Default Stearing wheel off center, easy fix?

My steering wheel was left off center by like 1 teeth from the last time i got my alignment done. Does anyone know how i can get it back centered? Can i just turn the wheel completely to one side and jerk it firmly until it clicks into the next teeth? Ive seen this done on a 4-Runner.

Thanks!

So you removed the steering wheel ?

or is your alignement simply off ?

You won't be able to jeerk the steering wheel to an other spline...

I believe there are just two options:
Either remove the wheel, turn it by one tooth and secure again; or
Realign the wheels.
As far as i recall there is a special screw nut which hold the steering wheel in place, hence make sure you have the right tools.

Dude, if the steering was never removed, then your alignment is OFF. Have the guy that did it redo it for free.

Part of their job is to make sure the steering is centered before they adjust the front toe.

You're going to have to do the adjustment through the tie rod ends.

The steering wheel position is adjustable by disconnecting and reconnecting the steering linkage. Anyone who has installed headers is aware of the linkage and coupler. I will post some photos when I get home.

a. Remove black linkage coupler.
b. Align steering wheel. You will notice that the upper portion of the linkage (black) turns.
c. Install coupler.

If you do this you run the risk of messing up the steering angle sensor reading. If you do this, your VDC light will stay on, traction and stability control won't work, and only a dealership with the Consult II will be able to reset the sensor.
