Default Hotchkis sway bar noise

I put on the hochkis sways second to stiffest in the front, and middle on the rear with 225/245 and its a huge diffrence but i hear a clunk noise going over bumps, its pretty loud, it feels fine, but i dont know what it is.. mabey the front piece you need to bend on the front end link...?..also i have a rattle in the rear, not sway bar related, sounds like its near the rear window, how do i stop that.....most importantly the sways bars.

I just dremeled off that little tab on the endlink so I wouldnt have any problems...besides, wtf do you use to bend it with? Anyways I also got the noise after a couple days and just went back under and tightened up the nuts on the endlinks using a breaker bar and REALLY torquing it down. Noise is all gone now

Maybe your exhaust is hitting the sway bar? You also need collars to stop it from moving around. Look up MacMaster collars.

no the exhasut is not hitting, my bars came with a washer type thing welded on it, that seems to solve that problem

Endlinks could be the culprit.

What do you think about the endlinks, what should i do, what are all the possibliitys. i thought it might be becouse of the peice i had to bend.

I just worked on a guys Z who had the same deal, clunking noise from the rear of the car with Hotchkis Sways which were set to the stiffest setting. Setting the sways at either stiffest or softest at the rear put the endlink’s at an angle and I believe makes them twist around and cause the clunking noise. We set the rear to medium which allows the endlink’s to be straight up and down and seems to keep it from twisting as much. Now his clunking noise is virtually gone. Try it out, it's an easy adjustment.

Lay on cement floor and whack it with a hammer.

I've also read you can get that kind of noise with the Hotchkiss bars if the bushings aren't greased. I definitely had the clunking noise before I added the McMaster collars.

the hotchkis sways come with collars now so that's a non-issue. Get back under your car and tighten the endlink nuts down REAL tight. Think about how hard they were to get off, try putting equal force back into them
