am i mistaken or did spl just recently redesign their A-arms. one for street, and one for race. it seems that from their website, that the new street ones have better clearance? can anyone confirm this?

Yes, that is correct but that's for SPL arms. Based on your photos, I think you have SPC arms. I called them about their revision arms and they only have them for the G35 not the Z33. They are out of stock of those until November. I don't know if using a different brand of arms will fix the clanking issue. For mine, I had Eibach Sportlines 1.2" drop and its clanks when I hit a pothole. It was doing that because the installer cut my bumpstops in half. I will swap to Hotchkis springs tomorrow with new bump stops and hopefully that fixes my problems.

When do you hear the clanks?

The G35 revised arms can be used on the 350Z as well. The reason they are labeled as G35 is because all current clearance issues reported have been on the 350Z.

Let me know if you guys have any questions.

I no longer have clearance issues with Hotchkis springs and new and uncut dust shields/bump stops. I have SPC A-Arms part #72120.
