I had some missinformation. The Touring has 18x8s all around.

This means holding the 245/40s is no problem, but holding the 275s for the rear won't work.

Shozbot!

If I buy a set of Track Rays, I would have 18x8 and 18x8.5. But, at the price, might as well buy some other wheels...

If I go 245/40 all around I will loose the stagger.

At least it is not urgent. I might just buy the Nittos and hold on to them till I can get the rims. Sooner or later I WILL need tires, no?

Look for a package deal you get a better price. Consider the tremendous weight loss from switching out your stock rims too!

Tire Rack and DTD both have tire/rim combos at about 30% less.

Can't go wrong with the Nitto 245 275 setup though, I would get 9.5's in the rear minimum if I could do it again!

Todd of DTD sells tire and rim combos and is a poster on this board. I bought my rims, tires and Eibach's all from him and/or his Company he works for.

Talking Got the Eibachs on!

And only Eibachs. Stock rims and tires, etc... (well, and tint, and short antenna...)

Sorry for the dirty car...

Talking On a tire note

I went to the Homestead 250 this weekend to see the Gran-Am 350Z run.

Guess what? They run 275/40's rear and 245/40's front on 17" rims...

Sweet ride!

It will settle down even more after a couple weeks. I was telling another poster here that some people get too worked up about tire width. I think the minimum recomdation for a 275 is 9.5 and I have mine on a 9 in for months now without problems.

I did play with the rear tire pressure a little to get it right though. My 275/40/18 Nitto's are at 30 lbs right now except when I am racing.

Now go wash that car!!

J/K

How do you like the ride?

The Ride.

After all that research, exactly what I expected. On straights feels close to the same, less choppy, but on turns the springs really show off. The car feels steady and hangs on to the turns very well.

I am the worst to quantify the change. But I can tell you I am VERY happy I got them, it feels great (the car), the drop is nothing to worry about (I was worried), and I haven't hit a thing yet because is lowered.

I think also is good I got this first and now I can see what rim/tires combo I can fit on the space I have there.

I can't say enough how much your's and JimH's input helped me. Thanks again!

Good planning, everyone should be so smart, save time and money!

I can't take credit for the idea Todd H of DTD stirred my interest but your welcome!

All,

Thanks for all the good information on this thread. I myself expect to receive the eibachs from Todd today. A couple of questions around these. How much should I look to pay to have them installed? Have the car aligned directly after the installation? Aligned again X days later? I keep seeing people talking about the shocks getting destroyed...what will the the effect on my factory shocks with the eibachs? Also, is there anything special that I need to tell the people doing this...I am having a company that sells eibachs install them...but not sure they have worked on a z yet? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I only paid 200 for install.

The front is the hard part but my buddy didn't even need a lift. He did have to remove the LCA 's in the front I think.

I wouldn't worry about the shocks right now. It's not going to immediatly trash them. My ride is perfect and I just hit 5k miles.

After install my aligmnment was still perfect and the camber in the rear was the same, the front was off "slightly" but not noticable. No tire feathering yet and the car drives straight as an arrow.

Good luck!
