Default Hotchkis Springs. What shocks?

Do you guys recommend any shocks to go with the Hotchkis? I know they work with the stock shocks but, wouldn't there be some aftermarkets that go with them any better? I'm not looking for a stiff ride.

why would you want a stiff ride? Stiff does not equal good handling necessarily - a properly matched spring and shock should be not be overly stiff at all. They work very well with stock shocks, as that's what they were designed around.

I ran on stock shocks for a few months and they felt fine with the hotchkis springs. I've recently upgraded to Koni Yellows all around and I've noticed they made a difference for autoxing.

As a daily driver the stock shocks are fine, but if you want to push your car then I highly recommend some Koni Yellows.

Running them with Tokico D-Spec shocks/struts, and it's very nice

I'm running the Tokico D-Specs, as well with the Eibach Sportline springs

It is a bit bumpy

Save up for some Stance Coilover

My question is if you are replacing the shocks and springs, why wouldn't you just buy coilovers? That way the springs and dampers are matched and tested, plus you can change your ride height and dial in your cross weights.

simple - because:

1. not everyone tracks their car or has the need for coilovers, nor is everyone willing to live with a coilover suspension.

2. very few people with coilovers, myself included, actually every adjust them. I've not touched my rideheight since forever, and I leave my dampening the same unless I go to the track

3. very few people have access to cornerweight scales, nor is the cost to cornerweight justified for many people

So, coilovers are great for some, and complete overkill for others - all depends on needs and budget
