Default Adjustable Front Camber Plates?

Does anyone happen to have pictures of the 350z adjustable front camber plates? I saw that they were for sale on avalons site but there were no photos. Paul, any pics on and off the car?

Also, what exactly are these plates adjusting (where specifically)?

THanks

I don't think you can adjust front camber on the Z with plates you need a new control arm to do that.

Yeah, camber plates only work on a Macpherson strut suspension where the top of the strut mounts is in effect the upper control arm, on the Z there is an upper control arm so the postion of the strut has no bearing on alignment change, where did you see camber plates for sale? Did they mean pillow ball mounts?

Just checked the site. Yeah the pillow ball just replaces the strut mount rubber bushing with a spherical bearing, it cannot change camber though.

krinkov, keep scrolling down. They have CAMBER plates down a little further on the page. I understand what you are saying, but take a peak.

Default Camber plates

I asked China Clipper where he could steer me to a set of camber plates in case the Alignment fix didn't, fix that is. He gave me AvalonRacing.com and you guys just picked up on it. I put it out a couple of weeks ago for public consumption. $435 for 2 front adjustables may be our ticket out of the mess, unless Nissan has another fix. They don't yet, I have heard, in increasingly profane language by owners whose tires are getting louder and louder, the 2ND time the car was aligned. I'm committing the website to my memory, I think I'll need it. Just a thought.

I think it is a mistake or wishful thinking, you cannot adjust front camber with plates they wont do anything, the upper control arm or wishbone needs to be adjustable.

I have seen the Z suspension up close and there is no adjustment for camber, only toe. Most new cars have fixed camber since they are not designed with being lowered in mind. Further, I would be very surprised if the Z wasnt already designed with a bit of negative camber built in from the factory even at stock ride height. Most all sports cars are designed this way and accelerated inside tire wear is just part of the price you pay, the Acura NSX is one of the most extreme with a full 2 degree stock negative camber in the rear(JDM spec) Best thing to do is just keep an eye on your tires, when they get to about 50% on the insides flip them so the inside edge is on the outside(note, if you run directional tires you need to rotate to the other wheel as well) this should make them at least wear even and get the most miles off each set

Haha, just re-read your post, I though you were talking about adjusting camber to get rid of inside tire wear. The condition they are refering to is called "feathering" or "cupping" and has NOTHING to do with camber angle, and has EVERYTHING to do with your suspensions ability to keep you tire planted on the road. so save you money on the camber adjusters, sorry

Cool, K. As soon as the Konis come out, I'll buy 4 and rid myself of one problem for sure, the bounce. It may cure the alignment by keeping my tires on the road, too. Otherwise, I'll use your plan for rotation and just drive the mother****er, I am tired of being pissed off. If I can't live with it, then its gone and I'll never buy from Nissan again.

It really makes me nervous how easily our troops are moving toward Baghdad, Saddam could have a nasty trap to play out for our soldiers and his own people in the city, unless of course he is dead as we hope. Say a small prayer for them, I will. Nite, K.
