Default .coilover adjustments.

hey guys,
i was wondering if someone could give me an idea on how to adjust (soften) some Ksport coilovers that I've had on the car for a few months now. I took them back to the shop where i got them installed to get the ride softened up, but its still a little rough for my taste. I know the ride will never be like stock (shocks and springs) but i wouldnt mind getting it pretty damn close. I hear people saying negative remarks about the Ksport coilovers, but so far i haven't had any problems except for the fact that it rides pretty rough...thanks for your help

Irrespective of brand name, you kind of set a trap for yourself by not investigating the specs before you bought. You have spring rates of 839/504(remember true coilover setups leverage a lot more of their spring power in the rear to the wheel vs the same spring in the oem rear location) With that much spring stiffness, your not going to get close to oem ride wise. The dampners should adjust from the top, meaning you will have to pull the rear shock/spring assembly to make a change. Frankly, short of pulling and selling the setup, I would spend $200 and purchase a set of 112lbs softer springs.

You're reffering to that set of 112 lbs. softer springs for the coilovers correct (If so, where would i go about buying these)? The Tein setup for the basics runs 503/503 and for the flex it runs 671/671. So with that being said, i understand the flex would probably have been a better choice, but the Ksport that i have are not far from the Tein basics from what i see. And from what i know, i think they're more adjustable as well.

Yes, softer springs by -112lbs at all 4 corners. Looks like their's been a price increase since I last looked, now it's $240-$260

Use the chart to find your free length and inside diameter, then call them with your desired rate (sold in 25lbs increments, not in Kg)

I just did the math, and when you work out how much spring would be required in the oem location to equal a 504lbs spring on the rear dampner I get 825lbs.

Flex are 16 way adjustable, 32 when you run them with EDFC. In any case, how much a product adjust's isn't near as important as the valving behind it all. Basics of course can't adjust dampning at all.

I hope things find a balance for you and it all works out in the end.

I'm going to try softening them up a little more and if I'm not comfortable with that, then I'll probably end up changing the springs. Thanks a lot for your help and advice.
