Well said, even if it was naive. Look at the equipment people are running to win Nationals in Solo2.

I ended up voting with my dollars and bought a set of Tokicos. One reason I chose them was because they make both the stock and Nismo shocks for Nissan (by the way the body of the D-Spec are much thicker than stock shock bodys, if anyone cares).

I only have one day on them with a new set of S-techs, I need to do more driving to get a good sense of how things have changed but I do know my drive to work and back felt pretty good.

I had the first autox event on the Konis. They were great, and I actually found out that one BS Z and at least one Mustang were running the Koni Yellows. The BS Z was on R-comps (v710) and Konis and running high 46s (in the 46.7 range). I was running 49.5s (RT-615), so go figure. I think the Konis are great, but I think I certainly have a lot to improve on this setup. I think I will keep the Konis until I get enough motivation to try the Tokicos, but from what I can tell, the Konis are great.

I was running them on 1/2 turn from stiff front, and 2 turns from stiff rear (out of 10), and I think this was great combo. The slaloms in this event were wide (spaced far apart) and fast, and I had no problem with transitional oversteer or excessive body roll (I am running Espelir Active GTs, which are progressive). I was pleasantly surprised, as I didnt even think about the shocks the entire event (8 runs total). For the next event, I will try running them full stiff all around. I dont know how prudent this is, but its worth a try unless someone has advice to the contrary.

Once again, I havent voted, but the Konis are great so far, and as others have said, I say if it aint broke dont fix it. I might try and sell the Tokicos brand new totally unmounted if I like the Konis enough.

Cheers!

FWIW the Koni Yellows were developed with the help of Carter Thompson (2nd in BS in his 350Z this year).
