Default 04.5 and up spring change?

could this have anything to do with tyre cupping? yes i know the change is in the rear springs but this could effect the front somehow.Thats a change of 85 lbs or about 25% which could be considered significant..

03/04 unrevised rear springs have 2 red dots and one white dot or all red dots. (342lbs in rate)
04.5-06 revised rear springs have 2 red dots and one light purple dot. (427lbs in rate)

If anything, by controlling porpoising, I would think it would decrease cupping.

From Dictionary.com

por·poise /ˈpɔrpəs/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[pawr-puhs] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation noun, plural (especially collectively) -poise, (especially referring to two or more kinds or species) -pois·es, verb, -poised, -pois·ing.
–noun 1. any of several small, gregarious cetaceans of the genus Phocoena, usually blackish above and paler beneath, and having a blunt, rounded snout, esp. the common porpoise, P. phocoena, of both the North Atlantic and Pacific.
2. any of several other small cetaceans, as the common dolphin, Delphinus delphis.
–verb (used without object) 3. (of a speeding motorboat) to leap clear of the water after striking a wave.
4. (of a torpedo) to appear above the surface of the water.

5. to move forward with a rising and falling motion in the manner of a porpoise: The car has a tendency to porpoise when overloaded.

In the Z's case, the earlier suspension had a tendency to porpoise on certain freeway surfaces.

What I do know is that the 2003/04 Z's seemed to have a higher incident of feathering compared to later models. I have a 2004.5 (2 red dots, 1 light purple) and have never had an issue with tires other than some noise showing up around 14k miles (nothing as bad as other describe).

With the brake pad kickback as bad as it is, I am starting to suspect the wheel bearing or upright may be at fault for the feathering, kickback and excessive noise due to flex somewhere or something but I don't have any proof, just a hunch.

I thought the 2003 was stiffer than more recent models. By those springs rates they seem stiffer, correct. The higher the spring rate, the stiffer it is, right? Engineering anyone...anyone...Bueler...
