Default So I went ahead and bought the stuff!

I bought tokicko springs/dampeners for the Z. Im pretty excited as I really needed a drop on my Z. I wanted to know from current members what setting I should start off at. I currently have cusco swaybars front and rear and they're set for neutral steer. (No over or understeer) with my current tires.

Nice. I am interested in this setup - nice drop and linear springs. Let us know how much drop you end up with...

This thread looks like a good starting point re: settings...

I haven't been able to dig much of any info up about people running the Tokico shocks AND springs.

Me either. Most people run the dampeners without the springs. I did some seraching and i found that these are the stiffest linear springs u can buy other than the nismo t2 ones. Ill take a picture before and after as well as measure all 4 corners.

Thanks for that link. Im gonna do 3 from full stiff front, 2 from full stiff in the rear. I was gonna lean to a slight bias toward the rear so I can have a little bit over oversteer and loosen up the front sway bar by 1 notch.

I have Hotchkis springs, but I found 2 on the rear too harsh, currently on 3 front and rear.

Good info. I was wondering if the camber kit will be necessary with the drop. I have read anywhere from 3/4" to 1+" drop with the springs. Was looking at these: http://z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?model...ng&prodid=1314

How do you like the Cusco sways?? I had the Hotchkis on my 03 (long gone) and liked them. Hard to beat the price anyway.

I dont knwo if a camber kit is neccary but I will be getting one to tune out the suspension some more.
I love the cusco sway bars. I know they're the most expensive set out (465 for f/r) but they're very solid pieces and are very very stiff.

HOE MAN this setup ROCKS! Several things I've noticed:

No more jittering. The whole car doesn't get upset when I hit a bump. Greatly imporved ride. Its not softer, but its less like driving on 'tippy toes'

No more nasty wheel hop, AT ALL. I did a burn out on dry pavement and it didnt jump a SINGLE bit. The car slid out under me and caaught traction. No more wheel hop on shifting.

Improved handling, duh. The springs are perfectly matched. The car doesnt want to lift up the innter tire on a sharp turn if i hit a bump. It would before because my sways are stiff.

The drop isn't 1''. Its 1'' in the front, and more like 1.5'' in the rear. I can fit 1 finger in the rear gap now that its settled, im running a 275/40/18 in the rear. After getting the fenders cut, i can probably fit a 295/35 snuggly.

Im running at 3/3 from full stiff front and rear, on cusco sways full stiff on ****TY kuhmo ASX tires. They're now the weakest part of my car.

My camber is wayyy off. The rear is so noticible. Im guessing around -2.5 in the rear. The front isnt changed much. Probably still around -2.

Thats good to hear! This is the same setup i am going with. How comftorable is the ride with the struts? Did the sway bars make the a difference in how ruff the car rides?

+++1 on the Kumho ASX tires. I just ordered a pair of 275/40/18 Sumitomo(sp?)HR2's for the rear. They are supposed to be a great bang for the buck tire. I have already put my car in a ditch and fish tailed multiple times because these tires can not grip for ****.

I have it set to 3/3 and its very comfy. Its softer than stock but the rebound is MUCH improved. The car doesnt get all upset if I hit a bump during a turn. It feels like a whole different car. Think..M3.
