Default Springs or Coilovers

So I dont get it. Why wouldnt I spend just 220$ on Eibachs instead of 1500$ on coilovers?

Is the handling really that much better with coilovers? Or is handling just marginally better?

I have money, I just would rather spend the $$$$ on other stuff.

I would appreciate any responses

Gracias!

The adjustability of height and shock damping on coilovers justifies the expense. And as VQracer mentioned, the springs and shocks are put together in unison.

For the 350Z specifically, I have found the ride to be excessively bouncy but NOT stiff. My 95 Supra had H&R springs with Tanabe sustec shocks...this setup was bouncy but the bounce was extremely short stroke and overall feel was stiff and connected to the road. The Z's stock suspension feels bouncy with a long stroke resulting in a rather disconnected feeling...not exactly confidence inspiring.

I, too, was going to get the springs and call it a day, but the more i drive my car the more i feel that the stock/spring setup is not a good one that would be alleviated solely by springs.

Therefore, I will no longer be getting the Tanabe springs. My friend works at Tein, so I will be getting the Flex coilovers with custom shock damping and custom spring rates. I should be getting them in the next couple of weeks after they're built...they will be built by the Tein staff in the US so i don't have to wait for them from Japan and to allow the US staff to do some testing. Their current Tein 350Z is also undergoing testing with a custom setup.

Im a coilover guy myself. I really like the adjustability for height. Straight forward here are 2 reasons OTHER then performance that it is good.

1) you can get it JUST right for the appearance you want
2) you can raise it for normal driving, and lower if your into car shows or tracking it.
3) you can set it to an acceptable camber level if you dont have a camber kit

So for the NISMO S-Tune, can you adjust the camber with the kit?

no, i mean you can drop it to a height just at the border line of where you will fall out of spec on the alignment.
