When I get all four wheels done I will get it alligned and let you know if it can be brought fully back into spec. I am running around a 1.5" drop.

There does look like there is a lot more adjustment after looking at the stock bushing.

Jeff,
I got the kit too but the front does not fit. Are you having the same problem too? I don't know if I want to take out the the rear unless I know it fits.

Henry,

No problems here. The rear fits great and they have a lot more adjustment range. I did not do the front yet. What kind of problems are there? Keith at K-Mac said that they may be looking at a new design. He said something about not being able to adjust the alignment without taking the arm off??

I wouldn't hessetate doing the rear but let me know on the front so I don't get into trouble.

Thanks

Jeff

Jeff,
There might have been a mix up with your kit and mine. I might have saved you a whole lot of trouble. The front kit I received does not fit and I had to order original new parts for the front from Nissan. I called the guys in Australia and they told me that the kit I got was probably yours. I need to re-verify.

So you are the guy (hehehehe). Kevin said they sent those to someone else by mistake. He is suppose to be sending me another set though.

Did you try to install the front kits and have problems? As far as I know all the Z's are the same. Any info you can share would be appreciated.

Thanks

Jeff

Jeff & Henry,

What's the lastest on your camber kit installs? It appears the rears will work jsut fine but did you get the correct parts for the front? Any pics?

Thanks

Bill,

Yes, the rear kits work fine up to a 1.5" or so drop. They may have a little extra adjustment for a lower drop but according to my alignment guy they are in spec at close to max adjustment.

I talked to Kevin at K-mac and they are re-designing the front kit. The original front kits were an eccentric bushing design but did not have a good enough range of adjustment. The new design they are working on will be an adjustable arm and ball joint.

I was told by Kevin that they would have them complete the first week in July and around 7 days to ship. So by mid July I hope to have them on my car.

After I have all four wheels done and aligned I will post some pics.

Jeff,

Having to replace the upper A arm makes it sound a lot more expensive to the point of whether it's even worth dropping the car. A simple $200 mod turns into $1k..

I take it Kevin didn't have any pricing?

keep in mind though that it isn't 100% necessary to instal a camber kit when doing an Eibach drop.

The rear can be brought back almost to spec by stock adjustment cams.

The front isn't too bad after the drop... I've had mine dropped for about 2 months now... My rear camber was brought back to almost spec and I have noticed no abnormal tire wear in the last 1,700 miles....

JimH on this forum has driven about 12,000 miles on an Eibach drop and he reports no abnormal wear either....

The Eibach drop is a $250 mod with nothing else needed, but if you want perfection you'll want the camber kits.

He indicated they would be around the same price.

Default What's the latest from K-Mac

Any news on the front camber kit yet? I spoke to K-Mac last month sometime and they said that the parts wouldn't be ready until September. Has anyone else heard different?

G35_AutoX,

This is the latest that I have heard from K-Mac. Here is the e-mail I was sent from Kevin:

Jeff,

Because of range of adjustment needed have decided to manufacture a complete top aluminum arm for the front of the 350Z which will easily adjust for both Camber and Caster.

Will be in production by mid August. As you would realise this is quite a major undertaking. It also includes a special ball joint.

Best Regards
Kevin

I plan on contacting them in a couple weeks to see what the status is.

I will keep you guys posted.
Our arms could go into production at any time but the cost is pretty high. From what we have talked about they will primarily be a "race" only piece. They been proven through our endurance racing but the cost on them with a min volume is high.
They would retail for well over $1000 for the set of front arms.
We might just have both options available for people to choose from.
Once we get the new parts on my car I will post some pctures.
Our newest development will be what I think most of you are looking for at much lower cost.
Cheers
BJ@350EVO.com

Also. We are looking into a street /sport / performance shock set up......The motons are the top notch but for street applications not what people are looking for. The shocks
Things should be taking off qite quickly........

I am now hearing rumors that Nissan is coming out with a front suspension redesign and retrofit. The thing I don't understand is that all you guys are talking about taking OUT negative camber in the front, when that is exactly what you need. The tire feathering problem on the 350Z in related to not enough negative camber causing the tire to constantly scrub across the entire surface in a straight line and roll the entire tire over onto that outside edge in cornering. I will show you pics tomorrow of what happened to my race tires today to prove it.

I originally heard this on s2ki and I have since confirmed it with a Nissan tech when talking to them about replacing my tranny for a second time. I was verifying that the tranny has since been redesigned so I asked about this at the same time.

I got a email from Kevin this week stating the following:

-------------------------------------------

The adjustable Caster rod for the rear is only needed for serious
competition motor racing.

The base kit provides both Camber and Toe adjustment and comes with a bush extraction tool.

While the front kit is now a "replacement" upper control arm - these will not be in production until early October.
