Default Stillen Sways..Knocking/Popping

My Stillen sways (med/med) are knocking and popping ...what could be causing this? What should I check? Should I avoid driving..am I damaging anything?

I did a search and it seems Stillen sway owners generally dont have problems with knocking/popping?

Thanks

This is a pretty common problem with all different brands of aftermarket swaybars on the 350Z. It mostly seems to be caused by the stock endlinks not being able to handle the increased stresses from stiffer aftermarket swaybars. (The stock endlinks are pretty weak.) Most people got rid of the popping and clunking by going with stronger aftermarket endlinks, such as those from Whiteline, SPL, etc.

Yeah, I have teh same problem with my stillen bars set to Med/Med. So I bought all new OEM links. Popping, clunking went away for a while but came right back again after a month or so. That was a complete waste of time and money. Hopefully some solid end links that were talked about get produced. For now I'll just live with the annoying noise.

Many people have had success with the Whiteline and SPL endlinks (same thing), as well as the Powergrid links. I got the Powergrid endlinks, but am having a problem with the front pieces, so I can't recommend them at this time. All of those are adjustable links (not solid), but they are much stronger than stock. The Nismo endlinks are also very strong and adjustable, but they seem to be very hard to find. Adjustable endlinks are actually very nice to have, as you can neutralize the pressure on your swaybars for your weight. That can improve handling quite a bit.

Question

I am looking into getting the Stillen Sways bars. I know the Hotchkis one comes with new bushing, but not the Stillen one. Do I need to get new bushing when I install the Stillen sway bars?

Why get Stillen when you can get the same thing from the original manufacturer (Hotchkis). Unless you have a theme going or something. In the case you get Stillens and they have no welded collars, then ask them to send you some collars, since the non-collar sways are the old version. Don't let them pitch it off to you.

^^Stillen day next weekend, I heard they do free installation if we purchase it at that day. That's the reason why.

lol, get a better quality product that will ensure proper function and performance and install them yourself. It takes about 4 hours for a newb such as myself. Plus you get to know how to re-adjust them when you want to mess with how your ride behaves.

to each his own, i guess though. i'm sure you'll be fine with stillen.
