Default  13" rotor kit using STOCK calipers!

Props to Rishie at AutoRnD for pointing this out to me.

It's simple really - just a new bracket to space the caliper further away from the rotor cap and a bada$$ 13" Crossdrilled/Slotted rotor lurking behind your wheel.

Nah, they are referring to the front set.

"This Kit Includes:
2 ea. 13" Big alloyed one-piece rotors
2 ea. Extended high strength brackets (CB01)"

Regardless, BBK would seem to be safer. Does anyone have experience with this kit??

Those vents look really small (assuming that the pic resembles what you get).

I am running the AP Racing 14.25" 6 piston bbk up front, but still the oem non brembo in back (although it has that half of the stoptech stage II kit). I was thinking about using one of these kits for the rear, just to bump up the rotor size to 13". It would be mainly for looks since the size diference right now looks a little crazy.

I understand not wanting to use one of these for the front and that a real BBK is a better way to go, but what about in back in combination with a BBK? Any thoughts?

EDIT: I read the stoptech article and it touched on this exact situation, but gave a very vague answer that may or may not apply depending on a number of factors:

Unfortunately, adding a caliper move-out kit to the rear could affect vehicle stability under braking in certain applications. This is especially of concern if the big brake kit was engineered to adjust the brake bias slightly rearward, as StopTech sometimes does in order to exploit an opportunity for improved performance revealed by thorough track testing.

Conclusion
In conclusion, a properly engineered caliper move-out kit can provide some real performance benefits at an affordable price. However, caliper move-out kits fall far short of achieving many of the advantages of a properly-engineered big brake system.
Given that I'm not looking for all the benefits of a real BBK for the rear (I dont think the Z needs it.. At least I havent on the track, yet), I dont see any reason not to go with one of these kits.

^^ I discussed this point with Rishie and we both agree - however, if you don't have the "need" for a BBK (i.e. you don't track the car) and you don't feel like pissing away $3k+, then I think this looks like a good alternative. I have not read the articles/threads above yet, and I'm not trying to side with this either way - I just think it's a good idea if properly engineered and a helluva lot less expesive than a true bbk. I'll read the other articles after I eat dinner.

why not upgrade to 06+ Z/05+ G35C brakes with are already ~12.5" and use dual piston calipers?

I have considered that also, but those parts are not the easiest to find right now. Especially since of those who upgrade to a BBK, most only do the fronts.

Another option is to go with the OEM brembo rears. 2 piston fixed caliper and a 13" rotor. I've seen them go for about $750 on here and they are probably the most aesthetically pleasing solution short of going with a true BBK in back, especially if you color match them to your front calipers.

Decisions, decisions...
