Default Ceramic rear pads a waste??

Doing my brakes this weekend, and i figured i'd change the rears out, even though they look pretty good after 40,000 miles. Is there any point of putting ceramic pads on there rear too? Or is there so little usage that it would be a waste. thanks!!

Now? Yes. If the pads and rotors are OK, leave them alone. I have 48,000 miles on the rear OEM brakes. No point in replacing them if they are working well. And they are.

When ever you redesign the braking system by changing pads [friction coefficient vs speed vs temp] you need to make sure you don't upset oem balance as Nissan uses close to 30% rear friction to minimize stopping distance.

A higher rear friction will raise rear rotor temps.

Important to measure front vs rear rotor temps after a series of back to back 80>0 stops to check the 600F front and rear.

Getting things out of whack [by mixing pads] will allow ABS to cycle more increasing stopping distances. Each 1/10 of a second cycle is loss of 8.8 feet at only 60 mph.
