Question gtspec lateral braces

05 base stillen ser2 facia super yellow
has anyone used these lateral braces?
my z seems very unstable exiting corners under mod/hard pedal. will these parts cure some of this? with 255/45-17 KDW's on back the car should stick very well. I get a (slidey) feeling that can not be attrib to wheel spin.

swaybars would probably be a good choice, as I think you may just have some understeer (?)

what exactly is the problem like?

Based on what you wrote in your post we would personally guess that you are experiencing what is referred to as body roll. Body roll is defined as the changing of the chassis' angle in relation to the ground when going through turns or corners. Basically this means that you may be experiencing "lift" while cornering, thus resulting in less of the vehicle's sprung weight acting on the contact patch of the tire. While our braces do stiffen the chassis significantly this will most likely not be the cure to the problem you are experiencing. I would first check tire pressure and possibly lower it slightly. By reducing the pressure against the side wall the tire should flew ever so slightly allowing for more contact. Remember that tire pressure changes by 3psi when heated so always account for that when adjusting pressure. Should this provide the feedback from your car that you desire your problem can be corrected with proper tire pressure and sway bars. We appreciate your interest in our bars and hope we were able to help. Once you fine tune the suspension to where you want it then I would suggest you re-investigate the benefits of GTSPEC bracing.

Should you be referring to the back physically sliding off of it's intended path and not just feeling like it is doing so then we would atrribute your problem to understeer. Only way to get rid of that is to spend time on a track learning how your car handles when it sees various throttle inputs with various lateral g forces. Learning to combat understeer is by far the most fun way of correcting this problem, but please do so in a controlled environment.

The braces won't cure your problem. What suspension are you running?

I installed the front/rear Gt-Spec bars at the same time as my Hotchkis sways, a couple years ago. Because of that, can't really say which one did what exactly, but combined it really firmed up the body roll. For what you're describing, sounds like you may need to look into the springs/struts.

i had already guessed about the sway bars

It was really cool to see a reply from GTSpec and they will be getting my cudoes to all my freinds

I wouldnt say lowering the car will help automatically

Here is what I'd look at first:

1. Tire pressure. Play around a bit till you find a setting that works for you, and your tires and driving style

2. Alignment - even though your car may never have been modded since the day you drove it off the lot, that does not mean its ever been properly aligned. Many z's come out of the factory with alignments that are simply "off". No amount of money spent on suspension mods can overcome a crappy alignment

3. What model/trim level Z do you have?

1. Tire pressure set to 35psi all around

2. Alignment seems a little off and car goes to the left (not really bad though) after i got springs put on.

3. Base model (no lsd)

an LSD should be your next mod, but absolutely get your alignment done first

You can't cure bad handling if geometry is off

But I was asking the original poster the questions
