My bro's got a '03 G35 Sedan and there was a recall on premature brake pad/rotor wear. He wants to know if the problem lies in the pads or the rotors or both?
Also, he wants to know if it's a problem only in the automatics or the manuals (he has a 6MT)?
And lastly, if he gets aftermarket pads and rotors would the problem go away?

To reduce noise and create best in weight class stopping for magazine test Nissan chose soft fast wearing dusty [carbon] pads and soft fast wearing rotors.
While thick enough for the average Japanese [55 mph REAL SPEED LIMIT] driver the low weight and thickness of rotors didn't hold up to aggressive US driving styles and speeds.
Nissan has progressive attached the problem and for 2008 14" double thickness rotors will be available.
Rotor cast iron comes in half a dozen quality and harness grades.
