the backend is going out because of how you are driving

I could lift throttle on my mothers Camry and it will kick the *** end out too - I'd enroll in an HP Driving school, find out how to drive the car, before you make changes

Nismo wing adding downforce? You have to be kidding

I just installed the Cobb swaybars on my G35 sedan. Except for the color they look just like the Hotchkiss bars on my G35 coupe. Even the Energy Suspension mounting hardware and grease are the same.

It appears the bar rates are similar between the Hotchkis and the Cobb, but not the same.

Hotchkis
Front:
Rate Increase over stock
+22%, +48%, +82%, +129%

Rear Rate Increase over stock
+80%, +125%, +185%

Cobb
Front Bar Rates
Position 1 = 25% Stiffer over stock
Position 2 = 50% Stiffer over stock
Position 3 = 85% Stiffer over stock
Position 4 = 135% Stiffer over stock

Rear Bar Rates
Position 1 = 85% Stiffer over stock
Position 2 = 130% Stiffer over stock
Position 3 = 190% Stiffer over stock

Relative to price.. The Hotchkis website does not mention 'where' their sway bars are made. Leads me to believe they are made somewhere other that the USA in order to offer a less expensive product.

I'm 99% sure I read here that Cobb sways are made in the USA.

Maybe that's the difference.? I still have a couple months to make up my mind..

Cobb sways are made by Hotchkis - they are the same product

Perhaps the holes are drilled in slightly different places and that's where Cobb gets the slightly different stiffness rates from. Or, perhaps it's just a +/- thing, and the holes are identically drilled and the distinction is done for marketing purposes.

even the instructions are 99% identical - with the exception that Hotchkis uses actual pics and Cobb converted those exact pics to illustrations.

Cobbs site makes no mention of the sways being made in the USA. I do see the bushings they offer being cited as made in the USA. But so what? I wouldn't always count on a manufacturer/marketer to specifically point that out, whether they should or not

Do you know if the spring rates they provide are accurate? For my 05 350Z, I find Cobb's spring rates to be more favorable than the Hotchkis (Hotchkis much softer than stock in the rear).

Unfortunately there aren't that many linear springs out there.

The rates we provide are based off the newer suspension. So yes, it should apply to your '05.

Cobb Tunning springs do NOT fit on the front strut perch....in fact half the spring hangs off the strut perch is is so big.

WHY...because the spring is the same diameter from TOP to bottom.

Here is the SCARY PART! i took measurements over the phone and compared them with Shayne from Cobb and he has the same measurements....in fact he just sent me pictures on my cell phone and they look IDENTICAL to mine!!!!!!!

DO NOT BUY THESE SPRINGS! i don't know who made them but i can tell you these were NOT R&D'd.....if they were they would have at least fit correctly!,

the spring is so loose on the bottom that i bet if you hit a pothole you would bend the strut rod. new_cussing.gif

i have wasted 500 bucks on two sets of springs.....the other set is Tanabe GF210's....they were WAY to soft and PROGRESSIVE and sucked....but at least i didn't have fitment issues with them!

If Cobb is willing to stand behind their product and get me front springs that fit.....i will take back everything i said!
