Question Powdercoating Rotor Hats . . . ?

Hey guys,

Got a nice new BBK to put on the car, to bad I wont be back for another 5 months to put them on .

Question is Ive seen the Endless brakes that have the blue or gold rotor hats, and the Project mu that have the green colored hats. But is it possible to either powder coat or paint the hats a different color with out harming anything?

Searched around here could find anything on the hats only powder coating calipers.

Thanks

T

Is the rotor a 2-piece or 1-piece rotor?

If it is a two piece rotor sure, but I don't think it will work if they are one piece rotors...slightly off and you could have problems

Powdercoating is stronger than paint, however, I painted the hats on the rotors of my 2001 Miata (flat black) to get rid of the nasty rust color that the iron likes to turn. It lasted wonderfully w/ no chipping etc. I just prepped with a steel brush and brake parts cleaner. Then sprayed about 4 coats. Notice in the pic that you can't see the rotor hat, that's b/c it blends in being flat black..
