Exclamation TEIN US instructions have a wrong diagram

So there's an error which has been bothering me in the TEIN instructions so I e-mailed TEIN-USA about it. BTW, I'm super disappointed the US manual is so crappy compared to the JDM one.

Anyways...

The C line should extend to the top of D, instead of the bottom. Please see the attachment for a revised diagram. The equation should be B+C-D=A.

TEIN instructions (from the diagram i assume you are talking about the flex coil over) ? does it mean that it's possible to install the suspension by yourself? does the instruction also tells you what kind of tools are needed? i mean if it shows step by step then that could really save a few bucks by not going to shops.

Tein knows about the diagram...but they wont bother to swap out english instructions on sets in stock. We kind of joked around about it when Gregg from Tein USA came by the shop to help on the install of the EDFC cabling...asking wtf were they trying to do to us.

You can do the install by yourself but its a pain in the *** if you don't have access to a lift. You just need your standard mechanics tools and some jack stands. It would help to be mechanically inclined knowing what you're puttering with in the suspension.

You can do it yourself... but you need at least a pair of stands, a jack, a torque wrench rated up to 75 ft-lbs, good 12 mm 6 pt. socket + 12 mm deep socket, I believe a 16-17 mm 6 pt. socket for the larger bolts, large rachet to break bolts free, second person to help push the assembly down, tape measure, and methodical removal/install procedure. With good instructions you can finish an install in a single weekend. Then you gotta go get your suspension realigned + any minor tweaking later on.

Also be prepared to replace any nuts you might strip. Some of the nuts are brass and they tend to get stripped VERY easily if you accidently lose contact on the head. I'm actually replacing all four nuts which hold the rears strut towers just to have a nice clean install.

To access the rear strut stiffness you'll also need to drill a hole to access the ****. Otherwise you'll have to disassemble the rears suspension each time you want to adjust the stiffness.

The JDM manual actually has all the necessary information for a self-install including bolts + torque, spring stiffness, etc. If you have the US manual you'll need to also get a 350Z shop manual for the torque for the bolts you'll be removing cause quite honestly, the TEIN US manual is a POS.

I've been taking pictures of my install and I'll post a write-up of a "how-to" w/ the necessary torque info later.
