H & R Springs
Has anyone installed the H & R springs yet? If so, can you post pictures of before and after (or at least after!)? Eibach pictures are also wanted. Thanks in advance.

Heh, for some reason (probably cause they're so new) I cannot find anyone who has actually installed the H&R springs either. Personally I want the 1.5" drop, but am apprehensive of the camber problems that may develop from such a drop.

Do you have aftermarket rims? I'm going to have 19" rims soon and will definitely need to drop the car a bit. Sounds like the HR springs drop the car another .5 inches than the Eibachs. Both are progressive springs so it may help cure bounce as some people on this forum have speculated. And at least from my experience with BMW's, Eibach usually makes a bit softer spring (sports touring type feel) than H&R does. I too would like to see pics, but hope this helps.

i don't have rims yet and probably wont for a while. I will eventually get them and will most likely go for the volks in 19" diameter. I remember when i lowered my talon i wasn't to happy with the eibachs because the car still had a few fingers of room in the wheel wells. Thats why i want to make sure the car sits low and can handle the 19's when i get them.
The other thing i am concerned about is this "feathering" i keep hearing about. It seems most people experience this between 4000-8000 miles (if they do at all). I only have 2000 miles and i am impatient in regard to droping my car. If my car is lowered and i start getting feathered tires in a few thousand miles from now then the dealer is just going to blame the springs for the feathering. From reading threads in the problem section here it seems that most people are getting dealers to replace their tires if the car is stock and experiences feathering.

Posts have claimed that Springs eliminate the feathering and porpoising. I have also heard that ride quality is better in general.
BTW, IMO the Eibachs drop the car enough as it is! Those who have 19s and bachs, there cars look a bit to "slammed" for me. I still might get them, but HRs are out of the question for this reason!

Just to note, I'm pretty sure the H&R sport springs are linear and not progressive. They are supposed to be 25-30% stiffer than OEM as opposed to Eibach's 15-20%. I too am interested and called H&R some time ago. I hope someone gets them soon!

I have not seen them, but when I called H&R, they said the sport springs are linear. Paul at Avalon Racing told me the same. The Eibachs have been out for quite a while, I know they are progressive.

i have SPRINT lowering springs on my car (1.8 inches on all 4 corners) and have had 0 problems with camber issues. i took the car in for an allignment to both sears auto and to the nissan dealer. both of them ran the tests and told me that the car is still within the correct specs (neither of them charged me for the tests cause they didn't have to change anything...that was a big plus!!). i still have the printout from the tests as well. camber was fine, allignment was fine, caster was fine...etc. so, i don't know how all these people are having such issues...i dropped it 1.8 inches and was still alligned and correct in all the specs! i have pics posted on this forum. but, i will take pics from more angles and show you that it's still fine (pics might be here in a few days...heading to paris in a few hours and won't be back till monday).

I just called my local motorsport company to talk abou the h&r's and they suggested i wait for 2 new sets comming out. The guy is asian and speaks broken english but i belive he said rsr springs and nabe springs. I am going down there today so i will get the exact names later. He said both new spring sets will be ariving within 3 weeks and according to him they are better than the eibach and the H & R. Just wanted to share this with ya'll.
