Default Kinetix traction rod cracked!

So my car is at Corner 3 Garage today getting a BBK installed when Steve noticed my traction rod in the back was cracked!!! WTF how does this happen?

Will post pics of the rod when I get the car back....

Has anyone else had this happen?

Heres a couple pictures of the rods, the left one was completely snapped and the right one has a hairline crack on the welds. Ill def be contacting Kinetix about it but I wanted to give people here on the forum a heads up in case they are running early production models of this product.

This one was on the left

Right

Id like to give a big thank you to Steve at Corner 3 who caught this while doing my rear brake lines and possibly saving my life!!

That's pretty rough. If you call up Kinetix, let us know what they say.

Did you adjust the length to see if there was a difference in your wheel hop? Did you also have toe bolts to correct for the toe change these arms affected?

I don't think toe bolts were available when I put these on. I never adjusted the length of the arms either...

Looks like they did not heat treat it after the welding. Oh well, aftermarket company products are sometimes not manufactured to OEM standards.

Kinetix does have good customer service, they will be shipping me out a new set that is supposedly built a lot stronger.

I personally would stick to stock radius arms since you aren't adjusting them anyway to see if it helps with traction

THe new ones are black, and hopefully they dont crack. I had a set crack on me years ago but I was going 80mph and hit a joint on the highway when it happened. Almost lost it, drivers side rear wheel had like -7 degrees camber about to fall off. They sent new ones.

I think its fawked up they have had several cases and havent offered ALL of the customers with old traction/camber arms the newer ones...

In my experience, most Kinetix products (regardless of type) end up cracking eventually. They are always working on "a better version". Seems like a trend to me.

Thats pretty scary, you are really lucky. I asked them if they had any problems like this with their camber arms and they said no due to less fatigue on that part...

I agree, something as dangerous as this should warrant a recall.
