Hi guys,

I know this been asked a million times and yes, I've hit search and read through alot of old posts about this but hey, everybody got diff needs...

Heres the deal I'm looking for a moderate drop, I already got some brands in mind like:

Tein S tech
Tein H tech
Hotchkis

I got 19 TE37 with 245/35 in front and 275/35 in rear. I also got a Nismo lip that I'll be installing shortly.

My questions are:

1. If I use any of the springs above would I need a camber kit?
2. Will it rub with the 275 in the back?
3. Which springs are best suited for 05 Touring?

Your help will be greatly appreciated!

 

Hey I was just about to post a thread like this. If anybody can help, I'm also looking to buy the best possible lowering springs with about half an inch drop (after spring settling of course), best spring rate, and doesn't give much (if any) camber issues. Let me know! Thanks!

LOL. Yeah bro, I'm very critical in lowering my Z, especially since it already sits low, and I have side skirts, front and rear lips around, and at stock height, it already scrapes! So half an inch drop is more than enough for my Z on 19's. Heh.

 

i used to have the hotchkis and really liked it because it kept me in stock alignment specs and the spring rate was not too agressive so it didn't kill my shocks. i think the drop was .75 inches in the back and .56 in the front. it was perfect drop imo if you didn't want to worry about scraping too much. really comfortable ride too. i've heard bad things about tein springs such as sagging

most likely none of the springs you listed will not make you rub

Hotchkis sounds good... how about two more recommendations?

 

You won't have no problems at all (shouldn't). I would recommend the Hotchkis though. You can't really say you wont have alignment issue at all. Because you don't know existing factors at the moment. But if you did, it would likly be in the rear. And the rear camber arms and toe bolts are a cheap fix. But slap them on and have your alignment checked afterr the springs settle.

Tein H Techs really don't lower the car enough, IMHO, to give a proper look with the 19's

The S Techs are absolutely fantastic springs, and if you get genuine Tein ones (not those ebay fake ones!), they won't sag, and Tein even guarantees it.

Hotchkis are also terrific - slightly less of a drop, but they ride and behave really nicely

So, either one would be a great choice - we have both in too, in case you need a set sent out quickly. In all liklihood you wont be too far out of alignment spec with either one, though as mentioned, it really depends where your specs are from stock (there can be a wide range)

Might as well get the sways and have it all installed in one day. The TVS kit includes springs and sways at a good price point.

I've got my hotchkis springs sitting in the garage, I'm dying to put them in! I'm waiting til after the 30th (BIG 1/4 track day)

 

+1 on the Tanabe's...if you want a smooth ride similar to stock but a bit more aggressive looking, get the Tanabe NF (normal feeling) springs.
Are you planning to upgrade your shocks anytime soon?
