I've been looking around, im going to get some stuff for z car and I was pretty set on Hawk HPS pads. But I came across Nismo's R-Tune pads and I havent seen hardly anything about them on here; anybody had any experience with em? do they improve stopping power? I'm not particularly concerned with Dust or Noise, I just want more stopping power without eating my Rotors up and somewhat descent pad life. Thanks in advance.

Wow, 60k? that is serious life. Do you have them front and back or just back? I could see them lasting that long on the rears.

 

i didnt have my stock pads on long enough to tell about fade and havent tracked it long enough to tell if they fade from long track sessions. i have them on front and back on the non-brembo brakes. they are about to get changed out but i was trying to wait and get some used brembo to change out but i cant seem to find any at a good price.

 

they are fantastic pads for a street car

 

I had R-Tune pads on my '03, when cold they were worse than OEM for stopping power, to be expected for race pads. But leaving my house in the Z in the mornings (I live on a hill), it was always evident. At Pacific Raceways w/ Motul RB600 brake fluid, I was able to run three 20 minute sessions on a summer's day w/ no problem. I never felt any brakefade the whole day. Previously I had experienced some concerning brake fade using the OEM pads and the DOT 3 fluid.

For autoX, I think that they would only get up to temperature after the 2nd run on most courses. I think the OEM pads would be better suited for AutoX than the Nismo R-tune one.
