Default ATE v Motul Brake Fluid

I usually use the 600 Motul for my street car I track 3-4 times a year on street tires. Was in the local store to buy a bottle and they were all out but they had the German ATE brand for a good price. The boiling points are thirty some less than the Motul but is still quit high. I like the fact that the ATE comes in a metal cans since plastic believe it or not is porous and over time can absorb water.Any opinions on comparing these two brands?

We offer both but generally recommend Motul as it does offer the higher temperature range.

I believe ATE is much better suited for street use due to its better hydroscopic resistance (water contamination). ATE claims the super blue is good for 3 years. If i am not mistaken motul 600 needs to be changed much more frequently. If you plan on tracking your Z a lot then you may want to go with the Motul. If not then the ATE super blue should be more than enough. good luck.

All brake fluids absorb water readily and should be flushed every 18-24 months. Motul will last on the street just as long as anything else.

For a street car, save the money and use ATE Super Blue.

Plus, who doesn't like having blue brake fluid?

Dependng on certification laws in your area, the government may not like it and possibly your dealer as well. in order to be called a DOT 3 or 4 fluid, it must be amber in color so ATE blue cannot be called DOT4 even though it meets all other specs. Ate Typ200 has all of the same specs as the Super Blue, but it does meet DOT spec because it doesnt have the blue dye added and is amber in color.

it's hygroscopic

Both fluids are excellent, both well suited for street, or track days - I've used both interchangeably, and have never had a difference in performance
