Who has replaced their wheel bearings/hub assembly?
After some diagnosis and troubleshooting, I think I may have to replace my wheel bearings. A buddy of mine recently changed his rear wheel bearings out on his coupe, and it got rid of pretty much all of his suspension noises. It took him a while to figure out it was his wheel bearings. I'm inclined to replace the whole hub assembly to make it a bit easier.
Anyone ever do this? I'll probably end up putting together a DIY post for it, if and when I get the job done.

If Nissan sells a Complete Hub/Brg assy. you might be better off.
Presses and pullers are needed and in most cases a torque value is given to measure resistance. (torque to turn)....for Brg Load.
As far as disassembly, its just "nuts and Bolts" and not any different than whats being used in most cars nowdays.
As far as rebuilding the existing, chances are pretty good that once the brg is pressed out, you can go to your Brg. Supply and buy the Brg. cheaper than Nissans. Shy away from the Chinese Makes.----Japanese or American only

My pre-order '03 track model has seen a lot of track miles. When my LR wheelbearing starting going out, I decided the smart thing to do was replace the entire set. This is mentioned in the next issue of Nissan Sport Magazine (Winter '08). It's not a cheap endeavor as the bearing is part of the front hub and had to be replaced as a unit. The rears were a little easier, as they are separate units, but the Nissan parts alone were over $700.
It also allowed me to change out the lugs at the same time. All those parts have been battle-tested over the past five years, so it was good to replace all of the more vulnerable components. However, the Z doesn't really sound any quieter after simply changing out the bearings- the '03s didn't have as much sound deadening as the later models.
