Default is camber kit necessary for tein flex?

i was just wondering if i install tein flexes, will i need a camber kit? my friend said that you can adjust the camber on the flexes themselves, so i wont need a camber kit? any insight you can enlighten me with? =] thanks a bunch

When I did my Flex install I did get the rear camber kit and left everything else stock. I lowered the car to recommended spec's and had no problem when I took it in for the alignment.

Recommended by Tein for the Monoflex is -.8"/-1.2" drop so that makes perfect sense. Front can normally align to oem spec at a .8" drop of less and a 1.2" drop in the rear would generally require a kit which you did install.

ooo so that means if i lower 1.2 inches in the rear, the rear would need a camber kit, but if i drop .8 in the front i should be ok?

it depends on your wheel/tire combo and of course what your exact alignment specs are BEFORE you lower the car

generally speaking though yes, if you use their recommended drops, a rear camber kit would be necessary, front would be optional, though you might very well end up with uneven camber on your left front vs right front unless you install front a arms

To part of your original question, according to Tein's website, the front and rear Flexes have camber adjustment built in.

I was actually on the fence of putting a front kit on w/ my flex's then go for an alignment...I think I'll try and get it aligned w/o it first. I'm experiencing this phenomenon when I turn periodically and feel a slight lock up as I'm progressing through the turn. We'll see.

I could see it could be needed if your flex's are dropped below 1.25 with 9.5 or greater widths for the front....

What Tein's website says is that some of their applications have camber plates, while others do not.

No coilover for a Z or G has camber adjustment front front nor rear, because that is not how the Z's suspension is designed.

To adjust camber up front you need aftermarket A arms.

To adjust camber/toe in the rear, you will need at minimum the SPC kit. This will give you full control over rear camber and toe, with a broad adjustment range, no matter how much you lower, and no matter what wheel/tire combo you run
