Default KSport Big Brake Kits

Ok tried this at G35 driver with no responses. Might as well try here.

Anybody have any experience with KSport BBKs? Just found a place that has them 13", 8 piston caliper for less than 1500, and 14 " for like 2000. I have always kinda went by you get what you pay for, but the pictures look pretty good.

They do look nice. Would be nice to know if they make their own calipers or if they contract it out like a lot of BBK's do. Why does it say G35, shouldn't it fit the Z as well or are some things different?

I have been looking at a lot of BBKs, and haven't seen any calipers similar to these. Of course they could be a proprietary design, being built by some one else. It says G35 because I went in that way. If you go in through 350Z, it lists the same kit as 350Z.

It looks like they are actually about $16XX is you take the RC1 pads, depends on what your looking for i guess. I think they are pretty nice though, considering these or the Megan for my setup.

So how hard is it to get pads and rotors for these when they wear out?

Thats the only thing about these Chinese BBK's. It's hard to get aftermarket pads that will fit the caliper.

^Exactly what I was thinking. Probably have a hell of a time finding Pads and Rotors when they wear out, or have to order then straight from Japan unlike you would have to do with say Stoptech, Brembo or Wilwood.

Befor buying I would research replacement pads/rotors and ask that company if they have the resourses to get them, how long and price.

I searched a little last night and didnt really find anything as to replacement pads/rotors. I i gotta look through more choices before hitting the "but it" button! lol

The whole kit is exactly the same as D2, just painted differently.

Same factory, same components, different brand. KSport has exactly the same products as D2, coilovers are the same and so on. So if you have seen D2, you have seen KSport kits.

I was told by a vendor selling BBK's that the K-sport is modeled after the AP kit but has a few small improvements. Thoughts?

If modeled means copied than it could be true, but I am not sure which AP racing caliper was copied, some of their new designs have different piston diameters while D2 piston are the same. I would ask the vendor about those improvements, I am really curious about the answer

Don't ge me wrong though, D2s are fine for street driving, but comparing them to APs is a huge mistake.

More importantly, if they were, will AP replacement pads work too?

It's just has hard find brake pads for my GREX BBK. I don't want to spend $300 on a set of GREX pads. Just find the correct backing plate and dimensions and you can find a comparable set.
