Default Brake Wear

Greetings,
I have a quick questions about the stock brakes on my '05z.
I took her in to the dealer recently for an unrelated issue, and the dealership told me I need new front brake pads AND rotors. The car only had 20k miles on it.

Is this normal? I felt the rotors and they do have a groove...not sure the severity as I've never felt grooved rotors before.

Thanks for your insight,
Acumen

Use disk measuring electronic gauge to learn the exact thickness.

How many miles something lasts depends on applications and durations per mile, obviously city has 10x-50x the applications per mile of interstate driving.

Exactly how many applications were in your 20k?

My 04 350z has 22k and has cupped rotors and pads are down to 2mm. I guess they don't have the warning pin... Anyways just means you drove your card hard, just like it was meant to be

Question now is what to replace with?
