Default ABS Kicking In When Barely Tapping Brakes

I hit a curb on Christmas Eve and had my car towed to Service King. They repaired everything but when they took it for a test drive they noticed the ABS wasn't functioning properly. They replaced the speed sensor and it did not go away. They told me they replaced the driver side strut, control arms, and a lot of the other suspension components from the wreck. They didn't do anything to the brake system except for bleed the brakes after putting it all back together.

So they can't figure out what is wrong and the Nissan dealership is having a hard time figuring this out. Any ideas what could be causing this?

I haven't seen the car in over 3 weeks. I'm just relaying what the guy at Service King has told me over the phone. It is now at a Nissan dealership where they are trying to fix it. My insurance company is trying to say that my brakes failed so I hit a curb. Actually, the last words before I hit the curb were "Watch this, taking this turn with NO BRAKES". I don't think I should tell them that though...

From reading on here it sounds like the steering sensor is misaligned. He said it drives fine when going straight but when the brakes are touched the ABS kicks on. So if they have the steering sensor off by a lot if you hit the brakes the car might think it is trying to brake during a 90 degree turn.

Insurance fraud is not taken lightly. You should reconsider your position in this case.

Again, I ask how this would be insurance fraud.

I was driving to lunch and I hit a curb during a turn. Insurance fraud would be if I hit the curb on purpose to get my car fixed for something else. When I hit the curb my brakes were working perfectly I just did not use them because I had downshifted and it wasn't a very sharp turn. I underestimated the turn and I was about 2 inches short of making it.

I think the problem is that the body shop did not align the steering sensor properly or bleed/install the brakes properly.

Sorry for asking for help to get my car back since nobody can figure out why after putting my car back together the brakes don't work properly.

How does this sound like fraud. Kid had an accident reported it insurance pays as it should. Last time I checked accidents are covered with a deductible.

Insurance fraud is more like having your car stolen or stripped to get a check, only to put it back together with the parts you already had. Guess things are different were I'm from.

Ok, since you know it all what actually happened? Like I said, I was driving to lunch and I hit a curb during a turn. So you say insurance shouldn't pay to fix my car because I made a bad decision and took the turn too fast? So I guess everytime someone does something that isn't perfect driving and files it on insurance is fraud.

I guess about a year ago when I hit a tire in the highway that was fraud too because I didn't swerve my car into the guard rail to avoid it.

The repair place called today and said that Nissan has fixed the problem. A defective wheel bearing was installed when the body shop put it back together and it was causing it to be messed up.

Thanks for all the suggestions you guys had for what the problem could be. All my replies to posts will be, "That is fraud that your amplifier doesn't work, you should rethink what you are saying" and "Since your hood doesn't fit you are defrauding the company and that is illegal." Great help everyone is here.
