Default Q: Tanabe GF-210 with SPC

I have a question about lowering the car, and was wondering if you guys can give me some inputs. I'm planning on lowering the car with Tanabe GF-210, which is a 1.0"f/1.2"r drop (I'm going to be staying on stock 18" wheels ). I'd like to know if it is definately necessary for me to buy a rear camber kit? If it is, I have my eyes on the SPC kit, but am not sure what the difference between the SPC-72055 (http://www.directtuning.com/store/pc...SPC-72055.aspx) and the one from Z1 (http://z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?model...ng&prodid=1314) is.

Also, if I plan out to switch to 19" and a bigger size tire later on, would I need to change camber kit?

As for shocks, my car is still pretty new and I was thinking if it'd be a better choice for me to use the GF-210 with the stock shocks until they're worn out, and then switch to something like Tokico to hold up against the drop?

Thanks.

I'd say yes it's defiantly required. Install the springs, let settle and then install the rear camber and toe bolts the same time you have the alignment done. Then you can see how the front camber plays out at the time.

Adding bigger wheels and tires, you will not have to change camber kits. But have your alignment checked afterwards.

Front camber should be able to be adjusted back into spec without any modification. Rear will definitely need a kit.

Yeah that's what I thought, anything over 1.0" should get rear back into spec.. Lol I was really hoping someone would say no so i could save money on the camber kit.

So the one from Z1 is for both the front and back? I'm still not sure what the difference between the two are.

No, that's for the rear only. It's a kit that includes two parts for total adjustablity for the rear alignment. One part is for camber and the other is for toe. Toe is the most important part of a alignment.

Ohh so camber and toe are different... So would I need to adjust camber as well if I lower on GF210's? Or will toe be fine?

That's right they are. You will have to adjust both. I'd recommend doing more search on this for your sake. It also took me awhile to understand all this. But in the long run, it's easy to understand.

Toe needs to be set at oem spec. But so far as camber I guess you need to also go with spec to get the best even tire wear. Camber is what you can play with to get better traction on road course racing or real spirted driving. But you will need learn all the basics first. In race conditions you can play with toe also. But I haven't come to that advance level yet.
