Default Brake line leak!!

Just installed a 6 pot brake kit and my right side is leaking at the connection point of the SS line and hard line to the car . Just wondering if any one ever encountered this. Or if any one ever got a dud SS line before??

Thanks

Anythings possible, but a close visual inspection should tell the story. It may not be leaking at the Male/Female fitting but instead at the hose to fitting crimp. Dont do what some do and Teflon tape it ----JEEZ.

Sometimes the teflon innertube will get cocked when they slide the fitting in between that and the Stainless before they crimp it.

I make my own lines so Im pretty careful

i believe you are talking about the side where it doesn't use the banjo bolt and just screws in. When i do brakes, i tighten up up the line then clear silicone adhesive around it just to make sure it doesn't leak.

Take it off , clean the fitting and reinstall , its "probably" that easy. I small piece of debris in the flare will cause a leak. Ive also had to retorque a line before cause the flare slightly loosened up after the first torquing.

Thanks Guys I was doing this at night with my head lamp cuz my High power lights blew the bulbs, I am going to Pep boys right now to get some new ones and taking a look again. Then I am calling Stoptech to get a line replacement.. Just to let you guys know why I think its the SS line, is because I just took off a Stoptech 4 piston BBK, and everything was fine till I put the 6 piston BKK. I pray it not the hard line that would suck to replace.

As I said ---a close visual examination should clear it up. Is the fluid actually squirting out or just seeping or just causing a minimal "wet" spot ? Are you sucking air ? causing a bleed problem ?
