Default Car Problem... WTF?

I am not sure if it's common but it sounds to me that one of my rear brakes needs to be replaced. It sounds like its grinding to the rear rotor. I am actually getting it checked out by the dealer tomorrow. But I don't understand I had this car for 6 months and only has 23k miles?

Either A) The previous driver slammed on those brakes or B) I suck at driving...

haha What are your thoughts?

Even if your Z wasn't abused, the OEM rear brakes are known to wear out if used the way a Z needs to be driven! Do you know if the pads have ever been checked? 23K can be quite a bit of mileage for brake pads on a high-performance sportscar.

sounds like your pads need to be replaced and your probibly hearing your wear bar. get your rotors turned and new pads.

Yeah, I'd have a free inspection from someone else first. NISSAN will cost you bank for a brake job/inspection. Now if it's a defect... the free brake inspection should find that out. Then take it to NISSAN for repair.

Great news that the repair is cheap. I gotta wonder what a cheap rotor price is. Because anything over $100 isn't cheap to me. Used / turned ?

Too bad it wasn't some clip or something then it would most likely had been free.

When one buys a used car just one of the hundreds of tests you pay for in having an independent expert evaluate to compile the needed repairs to downward haggle on price..................even a 20k car can have wear and tear in excess of normal...........clutch, brakes, lubricants, belts..........hundreds even thousands in wear and abuse.

Nevermind it was not cheap. Cost me $450 for the rear rotor, and they had to replace the other rear rotor. I was just about to lower the damn Z too...

Weird, I thought all brakes had that warning clip / wire. Now I'll have to check and see. If it doesn't, I'll be visually checking my pads every six months from here on.

Sorry to hear that. I was wondering the same thing.... Thanks for the post it is of value. ;-)
