13000 miles. Brakes are low? (Also, aftermarket pad question)
I just came back from getting my spacers installed, and my shop told me that the rear brakes are really low 10%, and the fronts are about 20%. I find it a little weird - does that sound right? I don't drive the car very hard at all, my stopping is very controlled and smooth. How many miles was it until you guys did your first change?
Since I'm on the topic of brake pads, what are some of the best pads out there? By best I mean, no squealing, no grinding, and little dusting. I used to have Hawk HPS pads, and they were awful. They'd stop on a dime, but the feel and feedback of the brake was just terrible, and it juttered, squealed, and dusted like crazy. I hated them.
I suppose I want a brake pad that's like OEM, but just a bit better. I'm pretty content with the OEM brakes, but they are expensive from Nissan.

I've noticed that automatic Zs tend to eat up pads much faster. So that's probably your case. I barely get 15k on my oem brembo set up.
If you want something like oem but better..get the nismo pads. you can find a set for non brembos for 125 shipped.
