Anyone with HKS III coilovers plz help.
i was told that the HKS Hypermax III / hypermax serious coilover where nosiy (in the snese when you go over bumps they make noise. Is this true, cause i was about to pick up a set of the new Hypermax III, but was told by a local dealer of this information, so if anyone with these coilovers or know anything about it, please let me know if this is true. Thnx.
I have the hypermax iii sport, they have pillowball upper mountings so they are a little bit noisy. the regular one have the rubber bushing so they shouldn't the only other noise you can have is the gas when you have major body fast movement.. but it's really "nothing".
It's totally normal for a mono tube shock or coilover to make a noise in operation. Though you normally won't be able to hear it because of other sounds in the car that will drown it out. Roll the window's down, turn off the stereo, hit a bump and you might hear it (especially if your next to a curb or wall that sound can bounce off of). Otherwise road noise, the exhaust will be louder. Increased NHV from pillowball upper mounts is not the same thing.

This is reassuring. As long as it's not noticeable significantly it's fine with me.

i was planning to leave the ride height with the hks hypermax III the oem suspension height...... any inputs on this?? just due to the fact, i already have trouble going up and down driveways with my kit and stuff.
The whole point in getting a set of coilovers is to have the benefit of adjustable ride height & spring rates. Basically by lowering your ride height, you improve your car's handling performance.
Anyways, why bother getting a set of coilovers if your planning on keeping your stock ride height? Your just wasting your money.
I say just be careful more on how you drive and lower it.
By the way, what kind of kit do you have? Any pics?

According to the info published on the HKS site in Japan (HKS need's to do what Tein does and give us the same amount of info their Japaneese site has), both version's of the III have a drop range from oem or 0"/0" to -49mm/-49mm. Since they have full height adjustablity, you won't have to adjust spring preload levels higher to get the car higher.
Sounds like you should buy yourself some springs and call it a day.
Coilovers aren't for everyone. Don't buy ANY brand for that matter if you're not going to expect some noise.
P.S. Justin, trade me your III's for my RS!!!! LOL~
