Why does you thread title say "Tokico OR Hotchkis?

I think what your asking is for owner's that have D-specs installed with the Hotchkis TVS springs and sway bar setup to comment about the setup, right?

It would be a good choice IMO. So would D-specs, S-techs and Hotchkis sways.

yea sorry i was referring to the tokico springs compared to hotchkis springs....? as to how they settle (in the end, say after a month)?..... also, overall, would s- techs be an overall better chooice compared to either tokico and hotchkis? obviously there will be biased answers, and i suppose it depends on opinion.......so i suppose i might of answerred my own question!

i have the d-spec shocks/struts/springs. the ride is very good. the drop is on the aggressive side--front tire is not tucked but damn close.

imo the springs could stand to be a bit stiffer but all in all i am very pleased and have no plans in trying another setup

the shocks/struts are, but the springs are not. when i say stiffer i wish they were in the 425-450 range not the 375. just a tad too much body movement imo.

for the price of tokico dspec and springs, it seems like you should pay a bit more for coilovers.

Good timing, I just installed Tokico D-Specs this weekend. Haven't tried Hotchkis though.

Here's my Tokico initial impressions.

What sway's are you running?

D-specs have a rate capacity of 450lbs. I know of a way for about $400 that you can run a setup with the D-specs that can be in the 425-350 range.

hotchkis sways.

i would love some 425 springs and would gladly pay $400(provided the drop is similar)--much better than buying a set of $1700 coils.

i have looked into spl's rear mid link/swift spring setup, but it still leaves the front unchanged which is what i am most concerned with.

Here's how to have that.

Buy the sleeve coilover from Tom Motorsports that sell's on ebay for $158 shipped. You are only after the mounts and adjustable hardware. You might be temped to use the rear spring the kit comes with, but don't it's between 475lbs-500lbs in rate.

Buy two 2.5" outside diameter 8" tall springs from either Eibach (ERS), Hypercoil, 425lbs or from Swift 448lbs. You can have 425lbs rear springs by simply buying a pair of Eibach ESS springs 5" OD 9.5" tall. Should be around $400 shipped for everything.

The only modification you will need to do is on the front shocks. At the top of the front shocks is a crown shaped metal build up that simply need's to be shaved down a bit with a dremel so the front sleeves can slip onto the shock bodies.

BC Coilovers are under $1000.00 shipped, I'll be grabbing a set once my shocks are gone. no way in would i pay $500 for shocks when i can get a set of adjustable coilovers for 1k. i would have gone this route if they BC's were out when i went with my GF210's.

In your case who say's you need $500 shocks, you should be able to get Tokico HP's for $300. Unless their is something about the GF210's that isn't making it happen for you. Just be carefull and don't end up wishing you would have invested a bit more then $1000.

the guy is asking about tokico d spec with springs which go for around $700+. the BC coilovers are very nice. i wouldnt just buy any product because it was a bargain unless product performs as well, BC's perform well and are a bargain.

Tons of adjustments, mainly ride height. With springs you get whatever drop the spring provide. With coilovers, you can adjust as you prefer. This, among a million other settings that 95% of people would never touch (unless they AutoX, or what not).

Stance coilovers are also great for the price.
