Default Drilled Slotted Rotors/Pad Install

Didn't have time to upload all the pictures from the install, but here are a couple final results. Stops good, over satisfied with things. R1 rotors/Hawk Pads, I also painted the calipers and added a copule JVD graphics. Not bad for what it costs, we'll see how things hold up. Took about 5 hours to install with everything that is included. Long day in the sun honestly, kicked my ***

Nice. Just bought a set of R1 rotors and EBC red pads. Try to install them next week, if the weather will get nice

**** hit the fan this weekend, I'm in need of new pads, figured I might as well change the rotor to. Currently my brakes are making a small squeal. Anyhow how much did this run you just for the pads and rotorS?

Overall around $375. Just make sure you have your C-clamp and a little extra fluid. Got the pads off CVR at a kick *** price, highly recommended. Rotors were $230 shipped from R1. About $50 worth of extra's like paint, wire brush, sandpaper and decals. I had most all tools including a thunder gun to get the rear bolts off the calipers easily. Without proper tools you could be running into a long afternoon.

Looks good. Did those rotors come marked RF, LF, LR and RR?

Just wondering because most BBK rotors I've seen the slots and holes go in the other direction, not all though.

i didn't notice, i just could tell the difference between the front and rear rotors. I looked at the pattern both ways and liked this direction better. Preference i guess, i think i could have flipped it the other way also if i wanted.

I just bought the same thing, plus the ss lines. The vanes on the rotors are the same as stock, not directional anyway. I actually did it without the air gun, if you don't have a serious breaker bar and a 22mm socket, get to the store first, the last thing you want to do is put your tires back on and drive to Lowes to pick up the tools. lol

I've driven about 500 miles since install. There is no noise, very low dust ( i haven't noticed any yet), and they stop very well. With the ceramic pads I put on they actually seem to grab a bit better than the EBC's after one or two uses. The initial grab is a little softer than EBC's (green I believe), but if you heat them at all before applying they grab much better. I doubt stopping distance is substanitally less, but there's an improvement for sure. Some of the feel could be the lines as well. Everything was good quality, in fact the R1 rotors are made by Centric, so I don't doubt the quality at all. They also dropped shipped the stainless steel lines, so they're obviously made by someone else as well (not sure who)...

I wouldn't hesitate to pick these up again, and I did mull it over a bunch before deciding. If you're in the market for a minor upgrade, go with it.

clearance inside the wheel well getting to those bolts isn't very good. The rears came off like butter but the fronts were solid. I couldn't get them to budge, so i pulled out the thunder gun which breaks ears, air compressor and got **** done. Put my wheels back on with it too just for the hell of it. R1 rotors were of better qaulity than i expected. We'll see how they hold up against FL's humid climate. We'll update if i start experience abnormal rust, cracking or warping.
