Question How long for springs to settle?

I installed Koni DA shocks with Nissan T2 springs yesterday. When I finished the rear it was little high but settled over night and it's lowered now. On the front though, they were really high when I finished them, and when I checked them today they look the same. They're actually sitting higher than the stock ones. I haven't driven the car yet but I'm getting it aligned tomorrow.

Is it possible that I installed something wrong in the front? The only part that I can think of is the part that holds the spring at the bottom of the front shock. If i flipped it the other way, the spring would not fit over it(at least the side with the smaller diameter opening). With the stock front springs, the side of the spring with the smaller opening was at the bottom so I did the same with the new springs.

Any sugestions?

The strut has a thin ring that hold the spring seat, there are two spots for it on the strut. Make sure the ring is on the lower groove. The other one will actually raise the front.

Here, your spring seat should look the same as in this pic:

You can see the higher groove above the seat also. Again make sure yours is on the lower one.

Damn! I put the spring seat on upside down.

The thing is the smaller part of the spring is supposed to go facing down but it wouldn't sit on the seat right. It wouldn't go in and if I put the smaller side pointing up, the boot wouldn't go through.

I'll be taking them out AGAIN today to assemble correctly.

Thanks a ton.

One of mine was tight also, but the weight of the car helped it settle.

He doesn't have GF210, he has Nismo T2 springs, which I don't believe have anything stamped on them. Since Koni shocks don't really tell you how to orient the perches I wouldn't think the Tc Kline shocks would offer any more clarity.

Gesedan35 is correct, Koni DA's with T2 springs, no marks anywhere. Also, the springs wer not upside down.

Well, I'm done. It was the spring seats. The instructions are really bad.
On the good side, it took me less than 1 hour do do everything including disassembly/assembly of the struts.

Thanks for the pictures axelarate!

I believe that rubber part is what will take time to settle. When we uninstalled my springs, there was a grove in the rubber where the spring would sit. Over time it had formed a shape, a small notch. When we put the new spring on, it wasn't in that same grove -- and I do believe it will form a "new" groove, but that is what will take some time. But, don't quote me on that. I just did mine today, and while it definitely isn't higher, it isn't really that much lower yet either.
