So I ordered these lines from a vendor on this site which will go un-named at this time. These lines supposely would work just fine for the 350z.

I did my brakes this past weekend. Replaced the pads with some Ferodo DS2500 pads, and had some Motul 600 fluid ready to go in. Started on my back right caliper and removed the line. (I have done this many times with Stop-Tech lines on other cars, including a 350z). I went to install the new line. Attached the stock line on the inside wall just fine, went to connect it to the caliper with the copper crush washers, one on each side of the banjo. The bolt went almost all the way in, and it was still leaking. I was like what is going on. Looked at it, and it still wasn't all the way in, had a small, tiny gap still when it stopped. I was like, okay, so I tried to tighten it a little more and the bolt head broke off into my caliper. So I said a few #$@#%#@!$% words, and worked on trying to ge the bolt out. The damn thing was such soft metal that I could not get anything to grip on it without it acting like jello. I went to a friends house 2 blocks down that had more tools that we could try and use to get it out. Retractors broke, or kept just chipping away at the bolt. 2-3 hours there could not get it out. So I called a Z club member who is a mechanic as well, and I drove out to his house to work on this. 3-4 hours working on it, and just chipping away. The damn thing wouldn't come out. Finally we gave up, and worked on it the next morning. He was able to finally get it out and the threads were fine on the caliper. The bolt bottomed out too early. Costed me $75 to get that removed. Thanks to friend discount it was only that much. Reinstalled the stock line again, and motul bleed the system with my Motive Bleeder and the brakes are awesome right now without the lines. Much better than stock so far.

I only had a small rachet and put very little force on it to try and tighten it. It doesn't require much TQ to be tight on those. Here are a few pictures of what it looks like and what happened. As you can see the bolt is obviously longer.

I am still waiting on the vendor to refund me and sell me some Stop-Techs. But I warn everyone to not purchase technafits. Get a good brand on SS lines and don't cheap out. The only way I see these lines work if someone installed them using more than the recommended copper crush washers. Then you take a chance of it leaking more.

I will keep you guys informed. The vendor supposely is waiting on a refund from technafit before he sends me mine. But personally he should just give me a refund and send me my lines first.

With brakes, never cheap out, thats key. My GW lines are aesome, no issues. Sorry to read of your issues but thanks for posting your experiences.

i know it is not the vendors fault since they are just the reseller, but maybe it would be ok to mention which one so others do not buy these.

anyone hear of problems with Fluid Transfer Products SS Brake lines? they look identical to the technafit lines, which has me a little worried after reading this thread. i just installed them this weekend...no leaks.

I would contact Technafit about the issue - speak to Stewart (owner). Great guy who has been making hydraulic lines for more years than I can count. I've been dealing with Stewart for many years and he's a great guy to deal with. Their # is 310.212.5051. I've also dealt with Julie tons of times, and she is also a big help. Either one of them can get it taken care of for you. FWIW, Technafit also makes the lines for several companies out there.

Just remember, in the world of the cars, from OEM to aftermarket, NO manufacturer is immune to problems. Once in a while there can be a similar hardware issue, no matter who the manufactuer.

I have some technafit lines and had 0 problems, everything fit and tightened on like I expected them to. However I am not arguing that any company is immune to less than 100% quality assurance.

Well on the package it says 350z BREMBO. But no where on the package does it show the brand, model, etc.

PS, wanted to say we did disassemble my Caliper and we were able to see inside the hole that the bolt was in fact bottomed out inside the caliper. There was no possible way for it to go in any more. It was the bolt, with both copper crush washers and the line attached and it was too long to make a seal.

so it was packaged with the wrong bolt...sucks you had to go through that removing it, but it's a simple fix for sure and I am positive the manufacturer would take care of it for you without a problem

Probably so Adam, but I rather go with Stoptechs after all this. I was told by two others working on the caliper that I would probably have to replace the caliper because the bolt just wasn't coming out, but we never gave up. I wasn't liking the idea of having to spend $1055 for a new caliper. EEK!

Update: The vendor on here I am dealing with still hasn't refunded me or sent me replacements. I will give him till next Wednesday before I contact paypal to dispute it. Because it should only take a day to resolve this not this long already.

sorry to hear that.

i bought a used set 06 non brembo brake system with SS lines (one of member here), my SS lines was broken end of line and pinched every where during a shipped ( that's what seller said lol), so i ended up used my OEM lines. I really wanted to break someone's face lollollol
