Groan sound from front suspension
Hello, 350Z owners! A friend and I have been trying to find out what the problem is with his car for the last 4 months. He gets a groaning sound from the front suspension when the car has been sitting for more than a few hours. it happens in reverse within the first 20 feet of moving. The wheels can be straight or turned. it happens just the same.
The local Dealer cannot find the problem. it has been there many times and they thought it was something to do with the ABS????
The car is an 07 Enthusiast model with an AT.
I took a video yesterday from inside the car. Have a listen if you would. it happens around second 8.

Anyone have any idea what it could be?

You friend has a bad end link, most likely. The stock end links have been known to go bad (my left rear gave out - it creaks when going over uneven surfaces, especially when pulling in/out of the driveway).
Do a search and you'll find multiple threads on how to diagnose the problem (determine which link is bad), choose a replacement (stock vs aftermarket, and which are best), and perform the replacement job. Good luck!
EDIT: Should mention that if you have aftermarket sway bars, it might also be the sway bar bushings that need lube.

Another data point today is that he noticed it happens when he releases the brake for the first time after the car has been sitting for some time. Maybe it does have something to do with ABS???
Thanks for the reply, I did read some posts about bad endlinks and aftermarket sway bars / lowering the car noises. His car is stock. Nothing has been changed out. I am guessing the car has less than 30k miles.
