Default need help on front brakes/rotors

The Brick is up getting new tires & alignment. Service calls and tells me I'm down to 2 mm on pads and rotors are below legal limit. Per Nissan, i need new pads & rotors for a cost of $600. Car has 50,000 miles with original brakes.

I know diddly squat about this stuff.

Could I get some informed opinions on what I should do?

Just after good solid dependable performance; nothing "really cool" but do want low risk. Nothing where I have to go through eBay is of interest.

I'm in the same situation, but I didn't take it to Nissan for service. They wanted 490+tax for 2 new front rotors, resurfacing rear rotors and 4 new pads.

You did not mention what year/model you have, but it looks like a pre-2006 with standard brakes.
Good, cheap rotors made by Centric (they own StopTech) are $50 each front, and $45 each rear.
Pads depend on the type of driving, but ceramic (very little brake dust) are nice if all you do is daily drive. Hawk and Satisfied make ceramic pads $50-$72 per axle set.

honestly man I have gotten my stuff done at a Brake Masters and it was link 250 for my SUV. Larger rotors and pads. There is not much difference with going to a dealer compaired to a good brake place. You're going to save much more when moving away from OEM

I'd go with the Centric blanks. Cheap, but solid products, then a pad of your choice. http://www.zeckhausen.com/Nissan/350Z.htm
