Default Lowering your cars

I just got a set of tanabe NF210 springs for my z and didn't' change the shocks, which are still stock, from anyones experience how many people have had there shocks blown out, and how long did it take untill your shocks blew out

I posted a thread on this very subject not to long ago...shame I cant find it...anywho I have gotten varied answers. I would say around 12k miles.

I ended up just getting coilovers instead of just springs...lord knows all the other sh*t that could happen when and if the suspension goes bad..chain reaction dealy.

IMO it would be far smarter to just replace the springs & shocks at the same time. If you don't have all of the funds at 1 time, start saving. Too late for that now

I went with the Tanabe GF210's and kept the stock shocks. That's probably been about 20K miles ago and I'm just starting to get the creaking from them indicating that they are starting to wear out. With the much stiffer ride of the GF210's I expected that but they have lasted for quite a while and the ride is stiffer, but still similar to stock. I am getting ready to switch over to the Tokico HP shocks (because they are cheaper than the Tokico D-specs which are better). I would recommend going to the D-specs if you can afford about $500ish shipped. I've seen them for that price on E-bay brand new. I'm hoping to go SC this winter so I'm trying to save money any way I can, haha.

Do the springs have to be taken off again to change the shocks? I kinda wanted to do the springs first and just ride the shocks for a little longer until they blow. Install will be free.
