I posted a thread on this very subject not to long ago...shame I cant find it...anywho I have gotten varied answers. I would say around 12k miles.
I ended up just getting coilovers instead of just springs...lord knows all the other sh*t that could happen when and if the suspension goes bad..chain reaction dealy.

I went with the Tanabe GF210's and kept the stock shocks. That's probably been about 20K miles ago and I'm just starting to get the creaking from them indicating that they are starting to wear out. With the much stiffer ride of the GF210's I expected that but they have lasted for quite a while and the ride is stiffer, but still similar to stock. I am getting ready to switch over to the Tokico HP shocks (because they are cheaper than the Tokico D-specs which are better). I would recommend going to the D-specs if you can afford about $500ish shipped. I've seen them for that price on E-bay brand new. I'm hoping to go SC this winter so I'm trying to save money any way I can, haha.

Do the springs have to be taken off again to change the shocks? I kinda wanted to do the springs first and just ride the shocks for a little longer until they blow. Install will be free.
