I have the feathering problem on my Touring 6MT and the dealer has ordered 2 new tires and agreed to pay for an alignment (the dealer has the old style "ramp" you drive up on to get aligned, which the service manager fears will damage my front lip.....they have agreed to send it over to the Porsche dealer).
Meanwhile, I'll be getting 19" wheels next week. Should I go ahead and have the car aligned now, or should I wait until I put my 19s on? [I intend to put my new 225/45/18s on my stock wheels, to use at driving schools, etc.]
Does it really matter if I have it aligned with the 19s or the 18s?

I would also recommend do it with the new setup, BUT...
In theory is not supposed to matter. If the rims and tires are perfectly true, the alignment with the 18's will remain aligned with 19"s... So if the dealer balks at doing the work with after market stuff, just let him do it with the OEM and change it later.
If they don't mind, do it with the new setup. You can't count on the new rims been "perfect"... The alignment will be more accurate to the setup.
