Sway bars should be matched to spring rates. So switching the sway bar without switching springs isn't the best idea. Also switching spring rates without switching shocks is an issue as well.

you think a change of the stock swaybars by driving the stock springs and shocks will worsen the handling of the car?! hmm ... is the first time, that i read something like that ..

Sway bars are to FINE TUNE the roll stiffness ratio created by springs which is set by the vehicle weight distribution.

Sway bars are used to tune the under/oversteer ratio created by weight and springs.

hotchkis sways will work great , and are fully adjustable for your needs. I may also suggest Coilovers, you can set them at stock height , down a couple mm's that they wouldnt notice or slam your car if you wanted.

Austria and Australia, little bit different. It's "I'll be back" vs. "A dingo ate your baby."

why does the government tell you how to set your ride height?
just curious, seems very strange.

Have you thought about coilovers to go with sway bars? you could just buy a brand of coilover that allows you to stay at stock height...

hmm, thank you for your answers ... in austria every TUNED car has to clear an 11cm bar ... if it doesn't you license plates will be dropped ... stock car's are allowed to be lower, but if you tune them ... the 11cm law will enact ...

until now i think i will go with bilstein b6 dampers and h&r swaybars in front and rear... so i can drive at stock height and will have no problems with the police ...

what do you think about that combination

350Evo sways here on a stock suspension. Really tightened things up - I wasn't happy with the body roll. Now if I can just get that dam front bar to quit coming loose.

Good explanation. To add to that, swaybars also limit the independent travel of your suspension. The larger the swaybar, the more limiting the effect will be. Not a real issue on a car like the Z but still, something to consider. Swaybars usually have little impact on ride comfort and are generally a great way to improve handling.

Sways, springs, and shocks have little to do with handling. They do however change the ride and steering feel to driver.

Study Tirerack test on BMW where they incrementially change springs, shocks, sways and see the minscule MEASURED differences in slalom and road track times.

The purpose of all these things is to set and hold tire camber to near ideal conditions.
