GTSPEC Dry Carbon Strut Bar Review
First and foremost, big thanks to the guys at GTSPEC!
I got back from the gym today, just in time to catch the UPS guy walking away from my apartment carrying a box. He had missed me 2 times already, and this was my third strike. I grabbed him and told him it was for me, and showed him my ID. He handed me the box, and I immediately thought "WTF? They sent me an empty box!!! They must be fuggin with me or something." I ran inside and opened my knife, and cut the box open.
Well wudaya know, it's not empty
I picked the bar up, and was completely amazed at how light it is. The package said 4 pounds, but this thing is easily 2.5-3 pounds. I called GTSPEC to let them know I got my bar, and mentioned that theres no way this thing can be durable at this weight. They challenged me to "jump on it". I said no way in hell. They told me they'd give me a new bar if it broke (DON'T DO THIS TO YOUR OWN BAR, THEY WON'T GIVE YOU A FREE ONE!!!). I finally agreed, and set the bar somewhere that it wouldn't move. I stood on it, and no flex. At all. I'm about 240 pounds. I did a small jump, and still nothing. Then I did a nice jump, and came down hard. NOTHING! I was amazed! That's when I realized I needed to put this bad boy on my car.
I grabbed my tools and ran outside. I pulled my old bar off, and proceeded to put the new one on. I have the AAM Angled Spacer, and tried the bar without washers underneath. It just barely rubbed, so I ran two small washers under each bolt on the passenger side, and three on the drivers side. Came out perfectly.
In the looks department, I love it. In the performance department, I love it also. It saves me a little weight, and definitely keeps my front end stiff, the way I like it
On to pics.

The stock strut bar is pretty solid as I've had to take it off a few times. I'm guessing it's somewhere between 10-15 lbs. But Nexx is right. $300 for minimal sprung weight savings is a waste. This bar does look very nice though.
True, but that is one of the reasons one buys a new strut bar, the look factor. Saving a few pounds is a plus, but its visually attractive, which turns heads, which makes people smile
