I just have a question about the BC coilovers...
I search about it and come out that few owners of BC complain about the noise.

Is this a common problem of BC...!?
Thanks

All coilovers produce some noise , especially in the rear.

But is it the BC coilovers especially louder than others?
some said the noise of BC is pretty annoying

My BC's are as quiet as stock. Maybe its because I have the 1st version where it still uses the stock springmount. I know the newer versions have a new gold collar that might make some noise?

I wanna say BC did some sort of revision to that gold cap. I don't know what they did or what it affected though.

I've always heard that True Type coils on our car make more noise than the OEM setup... however, I don't know the validity on this either. (EDIT: BC coils are OEM setup, not True Type coils)

Seems like I really don't have any valid information today... hmm..

The first version uses a gold collar that sits in the stock spring bucket. They newer version eliminates the use of the gold collar so the springs sit on the stock spring bucket. I have the first version with no noise whatsoever.

Hey guys I have a question for ya (before I create a new thread). I installed the fronts yesterday, though I ran out of daylight and didn't do the rears. Anyway, when I hit hard bumps I'm getting a noticeable clunking. I dropped everything down and retorqued it all, the noise seems to be quieter but still there.

For the record, I also installed the SPC front A Arms. I have 20mm spacers on the front with factory 06+ wheels/tires. I've never heard rubbing on a car that was lowered so I don't know what that would sound like. Though I did look on the inner fender and the tire and don't really see anything noticeable? Could the A-Arm be contacting the upper part of the body of the car?

I have the coils on the hardest setting and lowered exactly one inch.

(and yes, the car looks ridiculous with the factory suspension in the rear lol it's in the garage, I refuse to drive it today)

I'm not sure how ur getting a clunking noise up front. I only got that from my sways because I did sways and coilovers at the same time. But that's fixed and I have no noise whatsover. Sounds like stock. I'd say install the rears, double check everthing and test drive again and see.

That's what I'm thinking... it really doesn't make any sense. I was looking at it again last night and I really don't think I'm getting any rubbing. However, I haven't been able to drive it again since Saturday because it's been raining pretty much non-stop and the car is clean and in the garage

I'll probably install the rears on Tuesday or Wednesday and go over everything one more time. We'll see how it turns out.

Check your endlinks. When I slammed the fronts I realized that my endlinks had too much stress on them and ended up breaking. So I installed some powergrid endlinks and hotchkis sways, problem solved.

Bump with a new set of wheels.

Wow, dude. You have me drooling over these wheels post more pics, they're gorgeous. I'm a sucker for black wheels though...

Anyway, I was thinking maybe it was the endlinks but it happened the very first time I hit a decent bump. I was under the impression they wouldn't make noise until they break!?

Do any of you guys have the SPC front A-Arms? With the A-Arms they give 8 rubber bushings with the kit. They say if the A-Arm is contacting the body on jarring bumps or hard cornering to add the washers to the existing bump stops on the shocks. But with coilovers I don't see how I could do that?!

I'll have to re-read the paper they gave with with those rubber bump stops. This really only happens on jarring bumps. Every moderate to hard bump it's silent (exactly how it should be). But on a very hard sudden hit there is some sort of metal hitting metal sound. If I hit a solid bump all the way across the road, both sides do it evenly. If I hit a bump on just the right side of the road, just the right side will make the noise. Ugh, this is stressing me out... just want it to work the way it should

9 month bump

...just curious if anyone has any pics of the shorter and the unrevised/standard rear springs just for a comparison. Preferably, pics with it's serial or part number shown on the springs would be great. I'm trying to figure out some of the BC coils that are posted for sale.

I have the same exact thing happening on my nismo. I also have the SPC front a arms and BC coilovers. I jacked up my car the other day and took a look at the area. I noticed very small area on the a arm where a part of the car is contacting the arm. Its where 2 parts of the car are welded together and sticking down. idk how to explaine it. One of these days im gonna get in there with a hammer and knock it out of the way or something. Its only just in the way so it moveing it just a about 1/4 inch or so shouldnt cause a problem. Look in there and see if yours is doing the same thing i guess. Its hitting about half way down the arm on the inside of it if that helps.

I also have this version of BC's currently being installed.

Are the Rear springs suppossed to sit directly into the OEM bucket.. I.E.. Metal on Metal? Or is there suppossed to be an insulator? I got mine second hand so I don't know....

Please help ...
