Default Helper Spring question?

We installed a pair of Tanabe Pro 5's on my buddies car.Only problem is the helper springs are always fully crushed.

^^Are they always supposed to be like this??^^
The ride seems to be a little rough and the dampening settings haven't been changed.Any help would be appreciated.

Yes... the spring is there to expand during hyper extension to keep the spring seated when it comes off the perch. It should be compressed whe the car is at rest.

then that makes no sense, since the car is obviously jacked up and no pressure is being put onto it at all. firs time i have seen a pic of the pro 5 with a fully compressed helper spring not under any load at all

Think I've found my answer. On picture , the car is not seated but the helper spring is still fully crushed.

Wow.... that's pretty retarted of me. I forgot the car was on the jack stands.

Back off on the spring seat and the helper psring will exend.

The seats are already set to Tanabe recommended height. The springs will still crush all the way down.
