not a must, but if you run a tight aftermarket sway, its questionable until how long the stonck ones give out. Then, yes you'll need new ones then.

i have the cusco sways w/ aftermarket endlinks. cant really say much cuz i got them on at the same time. i always thought aftermarket endlinks were a must, only because i went through stock ones on my civic w/ aftermarket sways all the time. plus i pinched off atleast 1 bushing per day, haha!

strength is one reason, but also, you should be able to preload your sways with the use of the endlinks. i havent messed around with mine yet.

meant to say, adjustable sways in the stiffest position. so yes the cuscos can fall into that category

I wouldn't call it preloading... but the Powergrid end links are adjustable so that when the driver is in the car the bar can be set to neautral removing preload on the sway bar.

The factory end links on my Progress front sway bar (about the same stiffness as Cusco) failed after just a month and a couple of autox events.

You will hear a clunking/popping noise as the endlinks bind and release. It is very noticible.

I have gone thru two sets of front endlinks before breaking down and buying the powergrids. I'm also running Progress bars. The stock endlinks just wont last with an aftermarket bar that it set more stiff then stock.

It sounded like a dull knocking every time I drove over even the slightest road imperfection. It also made a loud metallic clunk when pulling into my driveway at an angle, which is necessary due to my drop. The powergrid endlinks and semi-annual greasing of the sway bushings keeps the suspension just about as quiet as stock.

Not to get too OT but...
What swaybar settings do you run SpoilsofWar?

Middle hole up front.. I would have to check the rears, its been a while since I messed with them because I didn't have any endlink problems in back.

I just received my Powergrid enlinks from Z1 today so I haven't installed them yet.

I like the design of the Powergrid... I was considering SPL, but I kinda like these (look of design) better...

Any thoughts on these vs SPL?...

I, too, had the Progress Tech sway bars (front/rear) and experienced popping/clunking noises with the stock end links. Once I replaced them with the SPL endlinks, it went away. I've had mine installed for over two years now without issues. My Z has been to numerous autocross & road course events, and never experienced any problems -- binding, noise, etc. The Powergrid & SPL endlinks are probably your best aftermarket endlinks in the market today.

Even though I'll probably end up getting the SPL endlinks, I'm wondering if it's necessary to get these endlinks when getting aftermarket sways if your car isn't lowered?

If your car is on stock rate springs then yes you would have even more strain on the end links due to more movement and stress...

Lowering a car has nothing to do with determining your need for end links.

ok my mistake. I assumed it was when you lowered the car, that the geometry of the suspension changes, therefore you're putting more stress on the endlinks becuase they're now at an "angle" compared to being perpendicular as stated in the install video. But I guess I misunderstood.
