Default HPDE-Front brake pads or both?

My searches seemed to turn up mixed answers for this, so here goes:

I am doing my first HPDE this weekend. I will be upgrading my brake fluid to motul 600, and I figure I should also upgrade the pads to withstand higher temps. My local dealership has only front pads suitable for track work: Project U B-force. As long as I run with VDC OFF...will I be alright with just front pads upgraded and OEM brembos in the rear? I figure I should not have a brake bias issue since the fronts should grab better than the rears. Time is of the essence, and rear pads are apparently back ordered for 3 weeks at least, so I basically only have the option of running fronts.

14,000 miles on the car and the only other track work has been 1/4 mile at Bandimere, so not too much heavy braking aside from the occasional spirited drive. I am new to road racing so chances are I will be a little rougher on the brakes than someone with a ton of experience. I need to get to and from the track (2 hours for me) so I don't want to run into any issues. Apologies if this should be in the Road/AutoX section.

You should be fine , the bias will be messed up a bit , but it won't hurt you. First event you probably won't even notice it.

Get Hawk DT-70 or DT-60 pads. I wouldn't use the OEM rear brembo pads on the track again. They crumbled to pieces.

Get them here and get 2nd day shipping. Pads & Rotors

I just ran front track pads with aggressive street pads in the rear on my BBK wilwoods....Pissed of the ABS with alot of front end shutter. I had to run this way as I burned out my front pads and I didn't have an extra set of rear track pads lying around. You can run it but it can be a little unnerving under high speed hard braking. The VDC has nothing to do with braking, it's only for modulating power to the wheels with spin. My .02- Jim

Ok thanks much for the feedback. I'll see if I can order some in quickly.

get ferodo ds2500 front and rear and call it a day.
they will work on the street and survive some abuse on the track.

you have plenty of time to upgrade to R-comp tires, full race pads and so on...

what you would like to upgrade next is some brake fluid, braided lines (goodridge or stoptech) and than start hunting for better pads.

Well I was thinking about SS braided lines but then I came across this article. http://www.nsxprime.com/wiki/Brake_Lines

Didn't weight out too favorably for them. For those that run them-any concerns?

At 14000 miles I wouldn't waste the money on stainless lines. If you start getting up to HPDE 3 or 4 you may want to do them, but for HPDE1 the cost isn't really justified. You'd be better off spending that money elsewhere.
