Yep, I am a genius.
Because most mechanics are not worth two ***** when it comes to the EXTREMELY precise measurements needed for brake caliper brackets.
I simply posted that so you would know it was required.
Do you have any clue how many people have posted a thread like this only to post a horror story a short while later about how everything went completely wrong?
But since you know it all I guess you know exactly what material the bracket needs to be.

I appreciate everyone's take on this "experiment," having paid less than
50% of retail for the setup - I couldn't say no. Having seen endless-r's
bracketry for the r32-r34 cars I became confident enough to undertake
the exposure. This setup is virtually untouchable, not a single setup off
the car has been offered on ebay - ever. Nissan would not be able to
supply the calipers in a timely manner, even if you decide to spend the
$10k to duplicate the gear. Even endless-r's front only kit (basically a
set of front take-offs and endless pads with stock rotors) is $7k USD
in Japan.
I did a bit of diligence, and I am taking a chance. Nothing I am new to
frankly. Between my own idiocy, the help of Japtrix, and an as yet
unidentified machinist we will get the kit on.

And considering my posts were attempting to help a guy modifying a system that if done poorly could cause death to the driver or other innocent people I would say that many people CARE HOW MANY PEOPLE FAILED.
But I'm the tampon. I will just sit back and absorb. (That is my job right?)
Good luck with the project, I hope all goes well.

He said he has his mechanic taking the part to a machinist to make the bracket. A bracket doesnt have to be 600 dollars like that vendor on here is selling them for to work. Compared to engine tolerences and such that an avg machinist ( Or a good one hopefully) deals with, a bracket shouldnt be much.

Actually he said he still has to find the machinist. The tolerances do need to be spot on. Just because its brakes and not an engine part, does not mean any "avg" machinist can do it. I bet he will end up spending as much or more in design, materials and trial pieces before all is said and done.
I think its a cool idea, but this is not just add a bracket and they work like 350 brembos. The proportioning vlave, master cylinder, and most likely ABS system will not work properly with these calipers/rotors. IDK but i am willing to bet the parking brake shoes and drums are different sizes, making that not work.
Another thing to think about is rotor offset, the link you provided is for a bracket made to go on r32,33,34 gtr's which have a different rotor offset than 350Z's do........so the rotors are not going to sit where they need to on a stock 350Z hub/bearing.
This sounds like a really cool endeavor and I know you got them for a good deal, but there is a lot of stuff to get them right.......
My last question is what wheels are you going to run to clear all those brakes??
Good luck keep us informed on how the project goes!!

So... I guess no one saw the z with the r35 setup at tas2007?
Next weekend we will try to do a full mock up and template for the
bracketry. If I can keep the ball rolling, and not run into too many
install issues I hope for a final install in 6-8 weeks. I will take some
shots at Japtrix that weekend. We'll arrange for a machinist to meet
with us for templating and brainstorming.
My current wheels will remain in place for the bbk.
Fingers crossed.

R35 GTR brakes were available in 2007??? I was unaware of that. What are you going to do to fix the difference in offset from the 350z rotors to the GTR rotors????? Good luck keep us posted!
